Grover's Disease: What works to help find relief?

Posted by 43219876x @43219876x, Sep 23, 2016

I have been diagnosed with Grover's disease under my breasts. I had a biopsy for diagnosis. Tried topical ointment with no really good results. Any ideas?

I was diagnosed with Grover’s Disease in July after a biopsy. So far the only way I can keep it at bay is Prednisone. I’m going back to the dermatologist soon. What can I ask for?

Something with few side effects and read entries here dating back to 2016.
Some of the findings may be more helpful than the derma. Wish you well.

Everything I have read since 2007 about Grover's says Prednisone is not a good option as it will make your skin thin. There is no one solution for everybody. Gabapentin worked for me for 13 years but it just stopped working and I have been itching again for 3 years. I take Hydroxyzine to get to sleep at night and Eucerin Itch Relief after showers to get some relief. Lots of people have good luck with Dupixent if they can get it. Other people swear by Cilantro and Chlorella smoothies. You can research this site and look at the Facebook page for Grover's Disease and find many things that work for some people. Sorry, there is no magic bullet.

Yes, it has made my skin very thin. This is very depressing to think it will not go away. I took Gabapentin when I had shingles, so I am familiar with it. I’m hoping to get into a doctor at a research hospital. I just started the cilantro smoothie. Fingers crossed. Thank you for you reply.

First shot of Dupixent taken today, fingers crossed. 7 months of prednisone off and on triamcinolone, tried Rinvoq, light therapy. Need relief from full body red dots and sometimes this….when incredibly bad

Had a huge flare up about 4 days after Dupixent initial dose. Anyone taking Dupixent experience the same?

I’m so happy to hear you describe your breakout as “sand pimples”, as I get them all over my arms, mostly. My regular Grover’s is much larger. Sometimes they have liquid and sometimes not. You too??

The little ones don’t seem to erupt. Maybe I’ve missed it.

3 weeks after first Dupixent shot. Thinking the diagnosis that went from folliculitis, to pityriasis rosea , to psoriasis to Grover’s, back to folliculitis or combination of all is incorrect. Back to the drawing board and prednisone to get me through this one. 4th severe outbreak in 7 months

I’ve had Grover’s for 7montbs also, with a constant itch, sometimes here, there and everywhere, but three huge breakouts on back, chest and thighs. I feel your pain! (Literally). Wishing for it to clear forever. For all of us!
