I have read, and I was told by my PCP and Pharmacist, that you should not get the Covid booster, flu shot, etc., as long as you are experiencing LT Covid symptoms, and/or flu-like symptoms, so I don't know when I will ever be able to get my boosters/shots! LOL! But, seriously, this is what I was told. I am still taking that in, thinking about it, and considering what I will do. Ayone else?

No thanks. I talked to both my pcp and urologist (I developed bladder/uti issues after having covid pneumonia last August) about getting the booster. Both advised against it along with the flu vax due to all the LC problems I'm having. They are in agreement that my immune system is not up to par. Whether it was weakened by covid or the vac's I received prior to contracting covid (I recd both moderna vax and 2 boosters) is unknown. All I do know is that at the height of covid I was masking, washing my hands and being vigilant and I never got ill. Once I was vaccinated my troubles started (got sick w covid pneumonia a month after 2nd booster...I was still masking, sanitizing, hand washing just as I did before) and ended up in hospital for a week. They can keep their boosters, I'm through being a willing guinea pig. That's my experience. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from vaxxing, it's up to the individual.

May I ask, where did you read that information? My PCP has said just the opposite, She thinks I should get the booster. She told me that some patients have actually gotten better after boosters. This is so confusing and distressing. If anyone else has some decent info, please post it on this site.

I don't remember exactly where I read it, but it wasn't just one place. I googled it and read several things. I get what you are saying about this being so confusing and distressing! Everywhere I turn, regarding many health matters, there is constant confusing and conflicting information. You don't know what to believe! I GET IT!

I got the previous booster in June before my son’s wedding and a multi-day, in-person teaching gig with 100+ people. I felt better for 3+ weeks after that booster and thought the immunity boost had finally helped me kick long Covid. Gradually long Covid crashes returned, although my recovery from them is quicker and the time between less frequent. Had the same 3+ week hiatus from long Covid after getting a second round of Covid (and Paxlovid). Will get the new vaccine in a month or so. Hell, after such a good response to the last one, I’ve been tempted to see if I could get one every three months just for the long Covid relief.

Well, this is truly confusing. I guess like everything else we’ve experienced, each person is different.
What to do??

I think it can get very frustrating for everyone…it’s difficult to decide what to do..I’m very overwhelmed by the info I read, some people claim that they got sicker after the booster and other people claim that they improved after the booster. I think it’s basically a different thing for everyone.. I did notice that a lot of the long covid symptoms have similarities between people and some have other and perhaps worse symptom..at the end of the day I will do what is best, hopefully it will be alright…also there are several vaccines this season, flu, covid and rsv…where to begin…

Long Covid for 22 months now. Getting RSV, pneumonia, Covid booster, and flu shot. I rather take my chances with vaccines. I’m old enough that I remember a first grader in my school dying from measles and I have a cousin who got polio and had to sleep in an iron lung.

I am confused because I met with a Doctor that told me he had seen research where a booster could help with Long Covid.I just don't know.I am nervous it could make me worse, but it would be Amazing if I ended up getting better from it.
