How do you deal with dry eyes?

I have dry eyes due to sjogren's syndrome. Does anyone else deal with dry eyes?

I deal with dry eyes but also suffer from Fuchs Dystrophy. The problem with FD is that it needs drops with salt in them to remove the excess water in the lens. I seem to be allergic to these drops, also. Anyone else with this problem?

all kinds of eyedrops, Restasis, prescription, plus over the counter, be careful to check preservative free or not. All preservative free, usually the single eye droppers, need to be refrigerated to prevent bacterial growth.

the over the counter bottles should all have preservatives and don't need refrigeration. if a bottle says organic no preservatives do not use it. *re recent eye drop bottle scandal, forget name if company, Google it.

and i keep my eyes closed after inserting eyedrops for 3-4 minutes.

my eyes, severely dry because i dunno i'm getting old? not sjogren's. my eye doctor says it's also oil that's missing, so some of my otc drops are gel drops, or a mixture of tear-like drops with gel.

I have a condition in both eyes. My eyes doesn't tear anymore. Dr said it's not a cure for me. Begin with a Bel something. Sorry my spelling is for the birds. Really frightened that I am going to lose my eyesight. Glasses for distance and reading Ugh.

Dry eyes seem to be "yet another insult" a d so annoying!
Have tried several of the mentioned treatments, recently tried a new prescription "Apo-OLOPATADINE. these eye drops plus the warm eye patch prove a great combination. I'm nor familiar with the mentioned eye patch, I have a reusable one which heats in microwave. Amazing the effect this has.

Did he or she tell you that you have blepharitis? If so, it is common and not serious.

My eye doctor told me to take fish oil capsules so I use salmon oil ( D 3) from a Norwegian company and it has helped a lot. I also use a pure saline water eye drop as often as I need it and believe it or not Simply saline nose spray keeps my nose passages moist and helps my eyes. Don’t forget to wear sunglasses outside as well. Good luck. From eirrol

Matter of fact he did. Very ingorning. I have drops of crispy drops thought it was my eyes lashes shedding different eye drops for it. Then I have to get my allergy med drops to. Can't put on my eye makeup anymore. Allergic to a lot of things. So glad to be able to talk about this.

Good evening @windchimes123. I am glad you have found something that helps with your dry eye issue. I have had years of trying to live with it and prevent it from becoming a major issue. The plugs, the refrigerated drops, the compresses, etc., etc. I have never heard of a lid revision. I lived on a very dry mountaintop in Southern California. Very low humidity, and not a lot of rain or moisture. My eye doctor of 30 years jokingly told me that the only thing that might help me is living in a rainforest.

Unfortunately, I now live in Minnesota. Lots of moisture but the interior of homes and offices is very dry during the winter. So we have special humidifiers installed.

I have been using Xiidra.....however, my insurance company will no longer cover that product. What do you use? Thanks in advance.
Chris
