Fasenra: Medicare coverage? Side effects?
My pulmonary doctor suggested treatment with Fasenra for my eosinophilic asthma. I know there are programs to help with cost but they are designed for those without insurance. Have you been on Fasenra and had success in getting Medicare Part B coverage for injectables? I would like to know how much Medicare approved and covered 80% of that amount. My doctor's office assistant inquired about the first dose RX given in his office. He was told by Walgreen's Specialty Pharmacy that my cost would be $1800.
Seems outrageously high. Any experience you have had will be appreciated.

Started Fasenra in December last year and another shot month away in this month on the 19th. All coughing, choking on mucus and mucus buildup as well as shortness of breath disappeared immediately. The other I noticed a rash on my forearm which itched a bit. Put cortisone ointment on. Today spread a little.
Rash is listed as side effect of Fasenra.
Anyone have experience with this RX?
I'm due for third shot on
February 13th.

1 Reaction@noisylungs31 - I wanted to let you know I moved your post and combined the topic with your previous discussion you started on benralizumab (Fasenra), so you could return and talk to the same members who were talking about this medication before.
I'm sorry to hear about your rash. Those are not fun. Hoping that members such as @budisnothome @rad597 will have some thoughts to share on the rash you've developed and if they have experienced this. I'm also inviting @scoop @mcdc1959 @oma5 @songinmyheart54 @sueinmn to join the discussion.
What did your doctor say about the rash and its connection to the medication?
I just had my 7th injection and free of any side effects
The Fasenra has been really good for me - my lung function is greatly improved
I highly recommend it.

1 ReactionMedicare and tri-care for life pay over $18,000 every 8 weeks for fasenra. It was excellent and I never felt better but I had to go off it because my cancer treatment will not work with fasenra.
If you qualify astrazenrca has a free program for fasrnra. 800.292.6363. I am on Medicare and bcbs. Call the number and listen to the prompts. AZandmeapp.com. it cleared most of my problems and I did not follow up with new qualifications so I am not on it any more. AZ also makes airsupra inhaler. Still on it. Free program. Works great for me

Thanks for your comments. I hope your current cancer treatments are helpful. I received full coverage from Medicare and Tricare for these initial shots. Did you use Home Delivery after the initial 3 shots?
