Does anyone often get oral thrush?
I have oral lichen planus. I have also recently been diagnosed with exercise induced asthma. Between the treatments for lichen planus and asthma, I tend to be “plagued “ with oral thrush!
I just want to feel better!!! I take horse back riding lessons to relieve stress but when I have symptoms, I don’t have enough energy to ride which really negatively affects my mood!!!
Anyone else experience this?

Do you get meds for it? Whoever gives you the prescription should be able to help you. I had it when I was on prednisone while having double pneumonia. The liquid "mouthwash" removed it.

3 ReactionsHi, I’m wondering if you use an inhaler because you mentioned asthma induced by exercise, I use a inhaler for COPD and if I don’t rinse my mouth afterwards I have had to deal with thrush as well.

2 ReactionsMicrogirl, I get thrush from antibiotics and oral steroids. Also, from using the Nebulizer or rescue inhaler IF they have steroids in them. It's important to rinse your mouth or brush your teeth afterwards. I also scrape my tongue occasionally. My go to for oral thrush is Diflucan 150 mg (prescription) and Nystatin mouthwash (prescription). I usually have to do both together to get rid of it. Thrush is stubborn.
It took me months to get rid of thrush after I had COVID and double pneumonia. I had to take a lot of antibiotics and steroid taper.
I tried coconut oil pulling and other natural remedies, but, for me personally, they didn't help. A good probiotic and yogurt also helps.
Praying for you as I know how irritating thrush can be. Blessings....

6 Reactions@covidstinks2023 what’s considered a good probiotic? There are so many choices! I think the nystatin wash is helping. I know there are so many worse things to have-I read about the awful things others are dealing with and it breaks my heart!

3 Reactionsmicrogirl, IF you have a compounding pharmacy near you that makes their own probiotics that are kept in the refrigerator, they tended to work the best for me years ago. Also, anything by Thorne, Pure Encapsulations & Micro Ingredients Pro-biotics for women. They all are very reputuable companies. More expensive than other supplements, but, worth it. Read the ingredients and see which one you think you need the most for your gut.
Blessings & Prayers to you....Yes, we are most blessed when we look around at others maladies.

3 ReactionsThank you so much!!
Yes, I too suffer from thrush. It comes and goes. I use a lozenge that they give me and it really does take it away. There is also a swish and swallow medication. I am diabetic as well as having an autoimmune disease.
Due to asthma and my inhaler I often get thrush starting. I've learned to rinse my mouth with warm water, use a tongue scraper after that and then use an Antiseptic Mouthwash and that usually clears it back up again. I wish you the best. Let me know what you discover with yours. Have a blessed day.

1 ReactionYes, I am diabetic and get thrush frequently. I use a swish and swallow called nystatin which has helped. I have been newly diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and lichen sclerosis. Have you tried the nystatin ? best of luck to you?
