Does anyone know of anyone whom has gotten over Long Covid Condition

Posted by jimmiep @jimmiep, Jul 30, 2023

We are all hearing of our issues that don't seem to get any better BUT, does anyone know of someone who has beat this bug. My wife made the comment that those who beat it probably don't communicate hear on this sight any more. If someone has found a way to beat this thing please let the rest of us know how you did it.
I've only been dealing with this for 7 months now and I am exhausted with it. Hearing that some have been suffering with this for 2 1/2 to 3 years is dis-heartening for sure. I really feel bad for you folks. I'd be a pot head by now. At least I'd be able to control the way I feel. I'm starting to think that way. Good luck everyone.

While I have read recovery stories from Omicron variant (2021-2022? I have not heard any from those who caught the early Delta strain. I am struggling for 3 years. Losing hope.

After two years I was close to 100%

Then the Zomicron booster brought it all back. Three
months ago.

I got Covid in dec 2020. Was sick for 3 months. Really I was “sick” for about 3wks but as I was getting better it took 3 months to “feel normal” again. To be able to walk without getting winded. And since I worked out with heavy weights for the last 20yrs and been weightlifting since I was 13….it was very difficult for me to get back to normal in the gym.
Then I was normal for 3 months and when I started having an array of strange symptoms it took me 6 months and seeing ALL the specialist before a endocrinologist told me
I had Long Covid. I didn’t have any medical reason to see her again but with the symptoms I was having and the different specialist I did see no one wanted anything to to with me or offered anything to help.

I’m almost at 3yrs since Covid hit me the 1st time and my symptoms have come and gone in waves but I’ve never recovered.
I’m always praying for that moment when I realize it’s gone for good.

I got Covid in January 2020, 3.5 years ago. The fatigue was debilitating. It took about a month before I felt anywhere near normal. Symptoms came and went including nerve pain and rashes. About a year after infection, I felt great. I actually felt a tremendous boost of energy and started losing weight. Still occasional brain fog. Then about 2 years in, I lost my appetite. Completely. My doctor said I looked great, and congratulated me! After 3.5 years into covid I got a grand mal seizure and am now epileptic. So symptoms can come and go. Stress seems to be a factor - people with more stress have more symptoms. Some people may get over long covid completely, and yes, they would no longer feel the need to be in this forum. I’ve had long covid longer than anyone I know, and I suspect people who think they are completely over it may have some surprises ahead. My long covid docs say stress can cause new symptoms to appear, and underlying issues to surface. Seems only way to beat long Covid is to live an stress-free life. Working on it…

Sure it was covid? The first diagnosis in the U.S. came on 1-20-20 from a 1-18 test. Were you in Washington?
Your doctor attributed the grand mal seizure to long covid?

So sorry. How are they determining that the seizures came from Covid? What were your symptoms before the seizure started? So sorry

The date of 1/20/2023 is the first laboratory confirmed case, from a traveler returning from Wuhan who checked himself into a hospital, where he was tested and found positive. That does not mean it was the first case in the US - just the first confirmed case. Blood donations taken in the US by the Red Cross in December 2019 have tested positive for COVID-19 and show it was in circulation in the US at least by December 2019. I believe caught Covid in the other Washington (DC). My neurologist cannot say for certain that Covid caused my epilepsy, but Covid can cause many neurological issues, including an increased risk of seizures. See articles below.

My most troubling symptoms before the seizure were impaired cognition and memory issues. I also had no appetite and had lost 50 lbs in 2 years. I've had other neurological issues come and go (nerve pain). My neurologist does not say Covid definitely caused my seizure but is aware it is a possibility. A number of studies show an increased risk of seizures and Epilepsy in people who have had Covid. Please see articles below for more info.
