Anyone have seborrheic keratosis?

Posted by peggyn @peggyn, Jul 10, 2023

Does anyone have this. The derm. dr. doesn't do anything for them. They are a eyesore and I have them in several places. Some are very large. Is there a natural remedy that anyone may know about?
They are those scaly patches.

Thank you Colleen. I know of no one else who suffers from this, and I’m the only one in my family. Praying for others who are in the same journey. Blessings…Jan

@janfurfari1, I moved your request to connect with others dealing with seborrheic keratosis to this discussion group.

I did this so you can read previous posts and connect with members like @crystalranae @peggyn @itchyrich @lakeocean @sueinmn @seniormed and others who may have experiences to share with you, especially the isolating and emotional side of dealing with seborrheic keratoses that are visible.

@janfurfari1, how are the seborrheic keratoses affecting you?

Since it’s something where there’s no cure and will continue to populate and grow what, if any, ways does it change your life?

Millions of people have seborrheic keratoses . Fortunately they are benign but yes can be unsightly.
Treatments vary from liquid nitrogen ( topical freezing ) to literally shaving them off with a scalpel, not ideal.. Unfortunately insurance doesn’t cover treatment. My advice , is to discuss with your dermatologist if they could work out an “ out of pocket “ rate. I have had many seborrheic keratoses treated in the past. A dermatologist can freeze off 20 keratoses in less than 3-4 minutes. Freezing usually results in minimal scarring and is very effective.
Hopefully your dermatologist will work with you with a fee that won’t “ break the bank “.

Thank you so much for responding! Been fighting this for years, and have had dozens of frozen off yearly. In fact, just had some done this week. Kind of like a game of “wake-a-mole”! My body feels like a topographical map. 😥

I agree. Very frustrating. Sounds like you’re approaching it properly.

@janfurfari1 It has changed my life drastically. I can no longer wear shorts or sleeve shirts because it’s so embarrassing. I keep researching solutions and unfortunately nothing. How about you?
