Does anyone have experience taking low dose Remeron for sleep?

I'm having terrible insomnia in the last stages of my Klonopin taper and my doctor prescribed Remeron. I have not started taking it yet but after some totally sleepless nights, I'll feeling desperate. Just wonder if anyone can give me their experience.

I took Remeron for quite some time. I feel like it was effective with my other 2 nighttime meds for my chronic and lifetime long insomnia. Off it now. It was good, except it was my second med that caused weight gain.
My appetite was very high from it. You might want to try trazadone at night.

@catwomanwriter hi did you taper the Mirtazipine? If so how long for? What dose each time thanks

I went from 15mgs to 71/2 and then tapered to 7 then 5 then off, I believe.it was a long time ago. I had very little reaction
