Does anyone have a comorbid sleep disorder?
Hi! I've had fibromyalgia for about a decade, but my daytime sleepiness has gotten worse and worse. So, I took the official questionnaire for narcolepsy with cataplexy, and the results said I was at high risk. I'm hoping my doctor will be able to help me, but all I know is I fall asleep anywhere, at the drop of a hat, uncontrollably. It's embarrassing and prevents me from a lot of activities. Does anyone else experience this?

Hi,
Have you had your thyroid checked recently, or are you gaining weight without changing your diet ? You may have a low thyroid. I am a retired RN. I have fibromyalgia as well as hypothroidism. Just a thought. Hope you are able to find out soon.

1 ReactionLast time my blood was drawn, my thyroid was okay, but I'm really curious to see if it has maybe worsened in the past year! Thank you so much for the tip! My mom has had low thyroid in the past, so maybe I have it too...

1 ReactionHello,
I have had fibromyalgia and cfs for several decades. I also have narcolepsy and delayed sleep phase syndrome. I can relate to the muscle weakness, as mine is getting much worse. I was also diagnosed with tachycardia. My thyroid levels seem to always be in normal range.
That must be hard & embarrassing.
I have sleep apnea when I fall asleep late in the day (minute naps) I keep waking up with a jerk (apnea).
Usually no one is around but it is very annoying and not restful. At night I use a CPAP with constant pressure to keep air coming in and out.
You could ask for an all night test. Maybe you could get help that way.
