I have dysthymia. Any medical marijuana being used?

I’m ready to get some! I know research shows it helps to balance out mood swings. I think the anti-depressants can be much harder in the body than marijuana. I’m ready to go to Colorado and try it. I do know that smoking a strand called Blue Dream helps with the pain of osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. Georgia is always behind on most controversial issues. The people making the laws are obviously not suffering with pain. Frankly, if marijuana is legalized,
It will take so much $$$$ out of the hands of drug manufacturers and other medical entities that they could go out of business. Smoking the Blue Dream enabled me to actually bend my knee without pain. I’ve had medical folks in an ER tell me that alcohol proved to be more destructive than marijuana as far as car accidents and other incidences that can cause injury. Anyone else used it for pain relief?

If you can find the medical grade if CBD oil, it should give relief from pain without getting you high. It’s the TLC in the marijuana that gives you the high.
Welcome @petangelkat1 to Mayo Clinic. This is a link to a group that is dealing with these questions. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/cbd-oil-and-depression-anxiety/
Many of us use CBD oil to help with anxiety and or depression- or both! However I we can not offer any medical diagnoses nor medical opinions. My experience is that CBD oil has reduced headaches, depression and anxiety.
I hope that you can share more about why you are searching for additional help.
My wife and I have used the CBD ointment on some stiff joints due to arthritis, even though I am too vain to admit to arthritis. The CBD ointment worked well and quickly, and I am most pleased. As far as it helping with depression, it appears I would have to spread it on toast…My wife did bring home some CBD liquid so drops could be put under the tongue. I was having such negative experiences with Trintillix at the time, I saw no positives. My goal is not to get high on marijuana, which would be a first, just looking to see if it is a valid supplement to other drugs. I live in a state which has approved medical marijuana. I am a better candidate for ingestibles…
@elwooodsdad – because of my lung cancers I can't inhale anything and am better with digestibles too. So the ointment really helped? I'd love to get some for my husband and myself! My state has compassion centers. Is there any particular dosage that you use for the ointment?
