CPAP (Phillips recall) and Cancer

Posted by John R A @johnra, Jun 17, 2021

I have recently learned that the manufacturer of the Dreamweaver CPAP (Phillips) is recalling these machines. They have evidence that the machines are emitting gasses and particles that may cause cancer. I have been using one of these machines for almost five years, and just over a year ago I was diagnosed with CEL. I would be interested to hear if other CEL patients (or other leukemias) are CPAP users?

There was news last week that a settlement has been reached. Phillips has agreed to a $1 billion settlement for damages. I have not heard from my attorney yet. I will post further information as I get it.

I just heard about this and have a CPAP that is being recalled. I called the attorney you mentioned and they said they are not taking on any new clients. What do you suggest at this point to do?

I have not heard from my attorney as to what the next steps are. I think that since the class action has been settled they are determining how to distribute the settlement among the existing class. I think another attorney might still take your case and sue Phillips independently.

Hopefully you hear soon!
My question is…..Do you only get a lawyer if you’ve had a health issue come from using the CPAP or do you get a lawyer regardless because you don’t know what your eventual outcome could be?

I suggest that you should ask an attorney.
