COPD and Gabapentin use.

I have COPD on O2 3 liters. I also have Diabetic Neuropathy . I was prescribed Gabapentin . I'm afraid to take the Gabapentin because of the warnings that it is not recommended for people with COPD. I would like to know if anyone here is taking Gapapentin. Thanks.

I have COPD and take 1800 mg Gabapentin. The only side effect I have is dry mouth. Both my Pulmonologist and pain doctor know of my meds and never mentioned a problem. Gab has really helped the back pain but pretty sure this one will wind up with surgery.

I take 1800-2300mg Gaba per day, with lung issues, and it presents no problems for me.

I was taking 1500 mg of neurontin at night prior to getting COPD. Neither of my doctors were concerned. I have COPD, emphysema, asthma and bronchiectasis. I think I’m stage 2. I am on 2L of oxygen at night.
I have since taken myself down to 600 mg of neurontin. The internist wants me to stay at this dose for my legs/back. He informed me that neurontin was a very safe drug
