Center of chest and right lung pain
I've had this pain for 11 months. I've been to a lot of Drs. with no answer. The pain starts in the center of my chest maybe esophagus and radiates to my right lung. I've been treated for hypersensitive esophagus with no results. Then had a stress test and found an artery 90 percent blocked so I had an angioplasty with a stent placed. Doctors thought for sure that would solve my problem but a month later it's as bad as before. The pain only occurs when I'm up and doing anything. It subsides when I recline or lay down. I do exercises laying down for 20 minutes with no pain ever, but when I walk or stand the pain starts after 10 minutes. It doesn't take any type of exertion for the pain to start but will always subside completely when I sit and recline or lay down. Not sure where to go from here.

Hi there -
Have you tried osteopathy or acupuncture? Might be worth a try.

1 ReactionThanks for your reply. No, I have not but I am going to go to a chiropractor soon and they have an acupuncture program there. Thinking my problems might be skeletal. I'm going to try anything I can. Thanks again.
@bjtobs, Hey there! Is your breastbone sore to the touch? Have you ever heard of Costocondritis? This is
inflammation of the cartilage that connects to the breastbone and it is very painful and can radiate. It can last for months and then goes away. Usually it is treated with Rest, NSAIDS, Prednisone taper, heat or cold. It worsens upon movement.
Lifting heavy objects or somethins as simple as swimming can bring this on.
Praying for you to get relief. Blessings....

1 ReactionThanks for your reply. No, not sore to the touch even when it's at its worst. I've tried heat and cold. Even a Tens unit. No help. Oral pain relievers no help.
@bjtobs You are so welcome. Just curious....have they tried a steroid taper to see if they will
help break this cycle of whatever is wrong?
I am so sorry you are battling this. Praying for relief.....Blessings.
Thanks for your reply. No, I have not tried steroid taper, but I will ask my Dr. of his opinion on my next visit. At this point I am searching for anything that could eliminate the problem.
@bjtobs If your problem's skeletal, osteopathy could probably help. Osteopaths are trained as M.D.'s but have additional gentle manual therapy training.
Best to you!

1 Reactioncould be referred (from your spine) osteoarthritis pain. Something could be impinging on a nerve and you are feeling it elsewhere. Pretty common. Finding a good acupuncturist -- or going to an acupuncture college where they spend a lot of time for cheap is a good idea. Also, an MFR therapist would be helpful. They will manipulate your spine so it is correctly positioned in your body, and you can see if it helps. Sometimes muscles move as units as we age and tug on things, causing pain. Could be pressure on your gallbladder, pancreas, appendix, or spleen. I think (IMHO) an acupuncturist is a much better idea than a chiropractor, for sure. If you think it's a skeletal issue, see an OD or orthopedist and get referred. My OD did chiropractic manipulations/adjustments as well.
@loriesco Thanks for your reply. My chiropractors office also does acupuncture. I will be having a discussion with them and get an idea what they would recommend and I will bring up your suggestions.
