@imautistic In an earlier post and this one, you mentioned fatigue and hypothyroidism, so I'm guessing they are trying to pinpoint the cause. The thyroid gland can and does change over time, so maybe they are looking for that, or maybe on further review they did not think the earlier ultrasound gave a clear enough image. That has happened to me at least twice, and the test had to be repeated. I'm not a professional, but I think there could be a correlation between the thyroid diseases and the celiac blood test results as well.
As for the weak positive on the celiac test, have the doctors said they will be doing a biopsy? Do you know which blood test(s) they did?
@sueinmn the IgG was 5.8 and my igA was 1.2 and my t3 total was 1.21
Did they run the full Celiac Panel bloodwork? If your celiac symptoms are fairly new, damage to your small intestine might not be visible on an endoscopy. That was the case with me 16 years ago, negative bloodwork and endoscopy, but both tests were flawed. I do have celiac. If your tests are inconclusive, you might consider going completely gluten free, keeping a food log to see if your have reactions to gluten-containing or other foods, and what they are. I also have hypothyroidism (27 years), which can result in fatigue if the TSH numbers are larger than 1.5 (which paradoxically larger means smaller with this measure). https://nationalceliac.org/celiac-disease-questions/i-just-had-a-blood-test-and-my-igg-is-6-it-says-weak-positive-what-does-that-mean-to-me/

1 Reaction@imautistic I'm not knowledgeable enough to interpret those results. What does the doctor say.
@imautistic If you tolerate them, it is good to eat more calorie- and nutrition-dense foods such as nuts, eggs, and avocados, and yogurt. I am sensitive to gluten, legumes (beans, peanuts..) and processed foods, and we are all different regarding what we digest well. If your being underweight can be associated with malabsorption (not absorbing all the calories and nutrients that you eat), which can happen with celiac and other conditions. Keeping a food journal and focusing on whole foods, rather than processed can help see if there are any that cause digestive or other problems. Let us know how you are doing. https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/professionals/clinical-tools-patient-management/digestive-diseases/celiac-disease-health-care-professionals

1 Reaction@imautistic If someone has the autoimmune disease Celiac, or is gluten intolerant (no test for that one), it can impact the ability of your GI tract to absorb calories and nutrients, potentially resulting in malnutrition if not treated (by avoiding all gluten). Because your tests are early stage, your doctors may not have a diagnosis for you yet, but hopefully additional testing will determine if it is celiac, or some other condition that it harming your health. Let us know how things are going. Once you get a final diagnosis, there will still be questions.
@imautistic did they only do a T3? It looks like it’s either normal or low normal. But honestly it is hard to know without the other tests in a thyroid panel and the units. Same for the IgG and IgA.
