Has anyone used CBD oil or anything similar for use in relieving Neuropathy?

Hi,
I tried 3 diff cbd products from one company, didn't help and made me stoned and very uncomfortable.
My neurologist referred me to a company called Vireo , they are in several states.
I not only tolerate this new "brand", I have received very good pain relief
I first tried their middle 50/50 , in vape, was fine, not irritating at all, but not enough relief.
The next time I ordered a next level stronger oil, and the same vape.
Significantly decreased my pain.
I'm not pain free, I'm able to manage what's there better.
Wanted to let u know as it seems different suppliers in medical marijuana have completely different effects. Hope this helps
A lil.

Ps, I also tried the very high%CBD, gave me no relief at all. I was afraid of THC as I said, don't like the stoned effect. This co Vireo seems to have a very tolerable blend.

Hi Clair, Rob in San Diego here, I’ve tried the papa &barkley products with no pain relief in my feet and calves. You said Vireo worked, which product was it and if you could tell me what state you are in, I can find kit. Thanks, Rob

Hi Rob,
I'm in NY. They have a web site vireo.com.
I am using green vape which is 50:50 cbd: thc ~as needed, as well as yellow oil 24:4 thc:cbd. I take .01mg every 6-8 hrs (trying for every 6 to keep even) .
That's for me, everyone is different (obv.).
I do think these products are much better.
I've tried several others that were not "medical marijuana " from licensed dispensaries. As well as another licensed dispensary that did not help.
Unfortunately, it is hit or miss at our expense.
But I didn't tolerate any of the rx treatments at all.
So i'm happy to be getting decent relief.
I hope this helps!
I know for me the pain in my hands and feet was so bad and nothing would help besides ice. Can't do that all day!

Rob,
It's vireo health.com.
Seems like on east coast.
Idk if you need to be certified in one of these states to order. I'm certified in nys for medical marijuana, i have card like my license w my pic.
I went once and met w pharmacist. Now I can get it delivered (pretty cool as they aren't near to me). They take cash or paycan.
Idk laws in Ca.
Good luck w this, I hope you find relief.

I have used tincture (1000mg/oz) oral for neuropathy: useless. This was from hemp oil. I'm looking for CBD from marijuana. Also,I've read les effective for people with long-standing neuropathy, which I have 30 yrs.BBesides, we are dealing with a comply unregulated product. So how do we know what's in the bottle. Esy for sellers to sell diluted product or somethingnelse

NanoBiologics out of CA works great for me. Check out their website. Also good relief from Rock tap. My physiatrist turn me on to it.

@ajtill

Where did you get yours from

I know some MD/PhDs that have researched this extensively, and they've mentioned Johnny Apple or Highland Pharm. This is for the CBD from hemp which is legal in all 50 states.

@montanagary

I have been using CBD made here from cannabis and am told that it is much better than CBD made from hemp. This CBD contains about 5% THC, not enough to notice. Its relieves the pins/needles feeling in my feet.

Hello, just joined! Have neuropathy in both feet! You think CBC oil would help?

Hello @ssheid, welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I have small fiber peripheral neuropathy in both of my feet and ankles but I only have the numbness and no pain. Do you have pain with your neuropathy? What other treatments have you tried?

@sarah_leanne

Yes yes yes! I have horrible diabetic neuropathy that 1200 mg of gabapentin a day could not touch. I have a friend who produces a pain cream that consists of full extract canabis oil, 100% cbd isolate, amongst a variety of other natural ingredients. I no longer take gabapentin! I rub tgis on my feet in the morning to get me through the day and then before bed to get me through the night. Unbelievable. I honestly never thought i would be a believer

@sarah_leanne Could you give me more information about the product your friend makes? Do they sale it to the public? My husband is on 2700mg/day gabapentin for post radiation neuropathy…and some days he gets no relief even taking that amount! Id love for him to try this out. Thanks!

Everyone is different. I used high strength CBD oil (1000mg?dropper) for 2-3 weeks. No benefit at all. I'm 84yo so that my have something to do with that.
Anactotally one doctor wrote that CBD effective in early stags of PN but not advanced like mine. read the label carefully. Some product has 900mg CBD per dropper and I saw one that had only three/dropper. How about that for a rip-off?

Where can I order it?

CBD oil MUST have some THC to be so
Somewhat effective. I use the highest combo I can find which is available at dispensaries only. It is Care by Design which has 150% each CBD/THC.

The main thing with CBD that you need to research is the Absorption rate and the bio availability. You have to remember that your body is made of more than 60% water and let's be real, (CBD) OIL and water do not mix so in most cases you are getting less than 6% absorption and bio availability for 3-4 hours. I have been using a product for about 90 days mainly for Plantar Fasciitis that has studies showing over 90% absorption and has a bio availability of 12 hours. Not only does it reduces the pain immensely, it also helps with sleep and anxiety.
I have a friend who's kid takes it for severe adhd and it has made a night and day difference

The main thing is MAKE sure you are getting a HIGH quality product. Unless you normally buy sushi from a gas station
