Hello @jonathanfesik, welcome to Connect. As non-medical professionals, many on Connect rely on finding credible sources and personal experiences. CBD oil is always a bit more difficult because it is relatively new and in-depth clinical research has not yet been done extensively to provide information on its use for multiple diseases and side-effects. Here is an article that touches on CBD oil and Parkinson's, however, it is not from a medical accredited site and does mention research is limited, https://www.healthline.com/health/parkinsons-disease/cbd-oil-for-parkinsons. Here is what Mayo Clinic has to say about CBD oil in general terms, https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/consumer-health/expert-answers/is-cbd-safe-and-effective/faq-20446700.
@jonathanfesik, you mentioned the medications you have started have made you very dizzy, would you mind sharing what meds you have started? Does the acupuncture help?
Hi, @jonathanfesik – I also wanted to welcome you to Mayo Clinic Connect. I'd like to invite some other Connect members who have talked about Parkinson's to comment on using CBD oil for Parkinson's. Please meet @pammettee @hopeful33250 @lsdempsey @pcolunio @hoard.
I'm wondering what Parkinson's symptoms in particular you are looking to alleviate, jonathanfesik?
Welcome to Mayo Connect's PD discussion group. I have had PD for many years and have had great help with the traditional PD meds such as Sinemet, Stalevo and Amantadine. I also exercise on a regular basis which makes a tremendous difference. I have never used CBD for any reason.
Could you share a bit about your history of PD? For example: how long ago were you diagnosed and at what age; what symptoms led to your diagnosis; what meds have you tried?
A PD diagnosis can be difficult to wrap your mind around but with the right combination of meds, exercise (including physical therapy) and a positive attitude PD can be a manageable disorder.
What type of exercise are you involved in right now?

Hi Lisa right tremors, stiffness tired and fall asleep at 8 but wake up at 5am slow walk right arm does not swing when I walk vivid dreams
Hi Teresa I'm a retired fire fighter I was diagnosed about 2 years ago my GP thought I should see a specialist I could not thread a needle any more because of tremors I,m 68 I started acupuncture it helps me and I'm not on any other medications but my last visit a month ago doc felt I should try Stalevo it makes me light headed I don't play hockey any more but still in good shape
@jonathanfesik It sounds as if you have always been active. I'm sure you must miss that.
You mentioned that the Stalevo made you light-headed. Sometimes it takes a while before the benefits begin to appear and side effects disappear. Have you ever tried Sinemet?
I would encourage you to look into Parkinson's support groups in your area, especially any that offer exercise classes.
Do you have any type of exercise program now? Many PD patients enjoy boxing. Here are some links to websites with information about boxing and PD.
It is important to exercise with PD, and if you can find an exercise program that you enjoy that is the best kind.

Translation from post above:
Buying CBD for tremors is too expensive. Unfortunately insurance companies do not cover CBD, for those of us who cannot afford the high doses of CBD for our loved ones, I recommend buying a CBD oil making machine and buying hemp flower online and making your own. own. I bought a Magic Butter machine and I plan to make my own oil for my dad. You can buy the cheapest machines on Ebay or Amazon, I started giving my dad CBD two months ago and it has helped him sleep and relax his muscles, but I have not been able to give him the 500mg-1000mg that other people are talking about. these discussions .. I hope that once I make my own oil the high dose will help get rid of your tremors, I will keep you all posted.
@parkin41 thank you for your post and for sharing both your concerns as well as your solution you are implementing. How many mgs would you estimate you are achieving with this process?
Thanks, I did post my previous post in English in a different thread and figured I'd post it in Spanish for those who can't read English. I haven't started making my own oil yet, currently I am buying the CBD and giving my dad 136mgs, far from 750mg another member posted. It is recommended that you start at 60mgs for someone who weighs 120+ pounds and increase dose by 2mgs every week. I got that info from Company I am buying CBD from, they are called Green Flower Botannical you can look them up if you'd like, once I start making my own oil I will continue increasing the dose by 2mgs until my dad's tremors stop and ofcourse give it to him as needed.
Hi to all in these troublesome times hope all are well! Just an update I still do acupuncture but every two weeks, I only do CBD oil no other meds. My tremors have all but stopped, I sleep well and have only slight stiffness I take .5 mg twice a day Very happy with the results. Jonathan
