Can I soak nebulizer connections prior to proper cleaning

I’m helping my mom through this difficult time, she has stage 3 COPD. She is on oxygen and now starting a nebulizer with albuterol solution treatment.
We have vastly different schedules, where she sleeps a lot during the day and I get up to go to work very early in the morning. She is too weak to clean the nebulizer parts on her own. I was wondering if we could soak the parts in something prior to me getting to a proper cleaning ?

Just soak the plastic parts in a solution of hot water and dawn dish soap. Then after 15 -30 min soak just rinse and let dry. . If she is not sick that should be sufficient. Sometimes you can add vinegar to the water as an antiseptic. Don't make the procedure too hard. After nebulizing have her put them in a bowl of the dawn and hot water. It can sit all day if she is tired to rinse them off.

Also do not wash the hose. Just a little spin at end with nebulizer off will dry out any solution left in the hose.
