What can stunt or help height growth in teens?

I am 15 and still growing but my question is can frequent masturbation stunt height growth or affect my hormones?

Hi David, Welcome to Connect!
I hope you get a chance to read through other postings on this subject.
I understand that you are worried about your final height, especially since your parents are taller than you are.
I hope you have a doctor that has followed you through your childhood. This would be the person to ask about what to expect. If you are not satisfied with the answer, then you should ask to see a pediatric endocrinologist. These specialists know how to check if you have a growth deficiency.
Hormone or nutrition problems could cause slow growth, but could be remedied.
Please let us know what’s happening!

I do not believe that growth stops at 16 as it has been our family experience for late growth which could be genetic or diet related. Also it is my belief based on experience that exercise and sports beginning in middle school or earlier can make growth potential achieve more height. The doctor of my grandchildren measured their wrists and predicted their growth.
We laughed at it but my grandson grew to 6' 4"! Study more about the subject.

My husband grew late and his mother grew after he was born. She was 18 at the time.
Hormones can do all kind of things to the body. My suggestion is to take up a sport or exercise that you enjoy and eat a balanced diet. Eat your veggies!

Hi, I'm 14 and a half (turning 15 in november), and I am 173cm/5'8. I was wondering if I could grow taller than 5'10/5'11?

As I grow quite a considerable amount of facial hair compared to my peers (I have to shave every month or so), and my lifestyle is highly active as I do many sports (Boxing, Basketball, Football), and I walk 10 000+ steps everyday to get to school. My father is 5'9, and my mother is 5'5, and my tallest grandparent was 6'0.

Do you guys think I can cross 5'11 with my given Circumstances?

Thanks.

Hi John, it sounds like you live an active lifestyle. I hope you read some of the previous responses in this discussion thread. As you probably read, there's no definitive answer that any of us here can give you. Genetics play a role in predicting patterns of growth. But that's not the only factor.

Have you talked with your family doctor - the doctor who has followed you since you were born?

Yes, he informed me a few months ago that I should grow until 18-19, and he said I should be at least 5'9 .5, or 5'10, since the last message I have grown 2cm and I am now 175cm and 3 months until I turn 15. I believe I am going to grow through my last growth spurt and than grow a couple inches until adulthood.

FWIW, there are theories that if the growth spurt occurs later, the adult height will be taller since there has been more time for growth before the growth spurt. But, if that does not happen for you, know that there is no "normal" height for guys and you can still be a great guy in so many ways when on the shorter side (and you will still be taller than many!).
