My brain fog is so bad I worry about my job and am considering taking medical leave.

Glad you are here. Can you tell us more about what is happening? And about you!
Are you perimenopausal, right in the thick of it? How old are you? Are you lucky enough to have a medical provider who is trained and experienced in working with menopausal women? Have you had a dexa scan? Look forward to hearing more.

I am 52 and in the thick of it. Brain fog and anxiety are the most severe symptoms. I have all the others but night sweats don’t matter if I can’t function at my job. I’m an attorney and my ability to think and remember are essential. I waited too long to speak to my doctor and he is a great on that I have been with for 20 years but very traditional. He said his partner has been going to conferences on menopause and I might need to meet with him as well. He put me on HRT and klonopin for the anxiety. I fear I may need to take a leave of absence.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I can understand your concerns. There is a tremendous group of supportive folks here with helpful experiences that they can share. Would you be inclined to take some time for yourself on a medical leave. Some time to get your feet on the ground, rest and get the help from your doctors that you need? How great that you have a doctor with menopause training to
help. You are not alone!!!

@nicholebooker I have an alternate solution. I am 50, take Tamoxifen for (male) breast cancer. It causes menopause, hot flashes and brain fog.
My therapist recommended neurofeedback. I’ve completed 20 sessions and can tell you honestly, I no longer have brain fog or anxiety. I have 20 more sessions to help with ADHD, executive function and sensory processing disorder.
I am also a principal business analyst for a health insurance company. Having brain fog did impair my judgement at work.
It takes a lot of work, self awareness but now I am present without trying. 🙂
