Symptom of high blood pressure?

Posted by ehdog @ehdog, Jan 19 8:55am

Sometimes I get these tension type headaches. I have medicated hypertension and at home just Bp is pretty good.

At my doctor's office, it was 114/?? 80s I think.

I asked my doctor about my tension headaches and she said it's due to BP which worries me because I can get them for weeks. I'm starting propanol.

But does this mean I have high BP for weeks?

It doesn’t mean you were misled on purpose. Sometimes nurse practitioners, while very knowledgeable, are working through possibilities and making educated guesses. They may also mention things to help rule them out, or she might not have had been properly informed at the time, which can happen. She’s a nurse practitioner, not a cardiologist.

Also, just because some patients report it doesn’t mean it’s medically proven or that it’s actually caused by blood pressure.

Why did you ask about dizziness? What is that related to? Are you worried it could be my BP?

I told you why I asked, just for clarity. There’s nothing deeper behind it. I just wanted to understand where you’re coming from and get a clearer picture, not because I’m worried about your blood pressure. It’s not connected to anything specific. Stop jumping to conclusions, you’ll trip and hurt yourself.

The things you’re dealing with right now, this was just a general question. It’s the kind of thing medical professionals ask as a routine check. It doesn’t mean anything specific, it’s just a quick, standard question I’d ask. Sorry for stressing you out, but there really isn’t anything more to it.

There is such a thing as 'exercise induced rhinitis.' The same can happen in the middle ear, a thickening, especially with a rise in blood pressure or when dehydrated. This may be part of what you have been experiencing.
