Best trackers for lost loved ones with dementia
I am planning ahead and need some guidance. I am caregiver for both my mom and husband. We all live together since my father died late last year. I am concerned about how to find them if one of them wanders off. What trackers have you found that work for locating lost loved ones? I like the idea of medical ID bracelets as well and have been following that forum question as well.
Thanks so much!

I bought a ‘Key Smart’ wallet tag for my husband to keep in his wallet. It’s slim like a credit card and I get a notification if it’s left behind.
I also upgraded his wallet a few years ago with his name and phone number engraved in it. It’s also a nice simple design and we paired down what he carry’s in it to simplify.
Awesome thanx for sharing
You have a lot of good ideas from the previous posts, so I won’t repeat the ones I use. My wife loves to walk our lab and I have an apple tag attached to our Lab’s collar. He is her comfort dog and would never leave her (and gives me confidence that she is ok and I know where they are)
The only problem with Apple airtags is they don't give you real time tracking and are dependent on the network of iphones, ipads and Macs to let you know where your loved one is. So, if the person wanders to a place where there are few Apple devices you might not get the latest location. They are not GPS trackers,
Since my hubby can reliably carry a phone, I am considering the OnStar Guardian service and app. The service is
$15 per month for up to seven people and provides GPS location tracking that I can check from my phone, a red button for emergencies that calls directly to OnStar personnel for help, a crash detector with first responder notification and roadside assistance.
