Has anyone looked into a class action law suit regarding Benzodiazepines?

In what country are they taken off of the market? I am in Canada and I am on Clonazepam.5 four times a day. Where is there a class action suit on this? I haven’t seen anything about it and I think my doctor wouldn’t know I’ve been on it since January I really wish I wasn’t but there’s nothing else that’s worked for anxiety even though this still doesn’t totally work either. I’m not on any anti-depressants. It’s just to help control my anxiety. For those that didn’t get off of it what did you take instead? Or did you just go without him? How do you manage your anxiety?

Benzodiazepines are still available. They have not been taken off the market in Canada or the US.
Effexor was taken off the marketplace years ago but it is not a benzodiazepine. Effexor SL is still available.

Try rehab to come off your benzodiazepines. It will change your outlook in life and improve your quality of life.

Going to rehab is the absolute worst thing a person could do to get off a benzodiazepine.

No rehab or detox is effective for tapering benzodiazepines. You absolutely must taper very very slowly. No one could stay in rehab that long. Rehabs taper you off in 10 or so days. Don’t believe anything you read on the internet about rehab places that say they taper Benzos. It can take some people years to taper correctly depending on how long they’ve been on them and the dose they were on.

I didn’t think you could go for benzodiazepines rehab. How would one achieve that?
You’re right.benzodiazepines are a powerful drug and extremely difficult to get off of. I believe tapering off slowly is the key to success and that doesn’t work 100% of the time because nobody likes to wait up to six months to a year before you can see results. Best bet for me would involve my psychiatrist.

You need to consult with your physchiatrist and provide him with a copy of the Ashton Manual to help you taper. It can take a long time to get through the taper process. Using the Ashton Manual you can hold your taper if you’re not doing well. I’ve held many times. I’m 70 years old and I’m not going to stroke out over my taper. I’ve gone from 3 mgs. Xanax per day, 25 years, to 2.5 mgs Valium per day over 3.5 years. My doctor doesn’t rush me and for that I’m grateful. I’ve also gotten off Paxil.

My doctor seems to have eased up a little bit but for how long?? I had a lot of heated discussions with him about how to get off them…I recently told him I am following a tapering plan but it’s going to take a long time..I sincerely hope he doesn’t upset me anymore with unproductive pressure, all that does is make me need them more…at the end of the day I have very little faith left in doctors and everything else that’s wrong.. it’s too overwhelming for me sometimes and I feel so hopeless.. I do have some good days but not many..
