I haven't taken more than one capsule a week, but I eat walnuts and red salmon every week. I do have AF, but it was attributed formally to undiagnosed and 'severe' sleep apnea. Even so, this several-year-old study might inform:

4 ReactionsWhat kind of food can you eat with a fib
@tdg I eat anything I want to, but I'll try to watch my sodium and keep it low as possible, keep the sugar down, my heart doctor told me to cut down on the sodium, not just the salt shaker, but in the groceries purchased at the store, especially can goods are loaded, she told me to quit eating bacon, she told me to quit eating pizza
@gloaming thank you very much I'll check it out
I have so many food triggers for my afib but I eat salmon with omega3 quite often and have never had an issue.
@tdg I watch the blood sugar, I even got a CGM. I can only have carbs if I have meat/fish and vegetables first.
A drink on an empty stomach, instant AFib. Same goes for bread. But Omega 3s do not seem to make a difference either way.
I also walk after eating, but I’m to the point even power walking can kick it off if I’ve been in normal rhythm for a couple days.
Doing my PFA tomorrow. Hopefully AFib goes away as it’s impacting my running. I can still run, but it slows me down in races. 🙁

3 Reactions@californiazebra I'm talking about the capsules, I can basically eat what I want to, the capsule was a great help with cholesterol and triglycerides, I saw several warnings about taking 4 g a day four 1 gram capsules, I'm trying to find some verification, some real life experience to back up the report, thank you

1 ReactionI am grateful to read the comments regarding possible relationship between arrhythmia and digestive issues. My EP said that many of his arrhythmia patients have this association with similar symptoms of general malaise, nausea, achy...flu-like symptoms--along with arrhythmia. My history with my heart issues seems to start with a failed stress test due to excessive blood pressure. This led to heart Cath to determine if I had a blockage which I did--30% so no stent. Treated with Crestor and BP meds. A long history of various "episodic events", sometimes resulting in ER visits and increased severity and frequency. Some of the ER visits resulted in hospitalization for observation as cardiac enzymes were slightly elevated along with BP concerns. This covers a period of 25 years...increases in BP meds, etc. Cardiologist did a month holter monitor with the resulting referral to EP (same group of doctors) and a Linq Implant Monitor. Not enough arrhythmia to analyze where the extra rhythm is coming from. Added Eliquis to my BP meds and a couple of months later, Flecainide and replaced my metoprolol with carvedilol. This made me feel like I had the flu almost all the time and my irregularities increased along with blood pressure increases in mid to late afternoon. What I had previously been experiencing was episodic. Another ER visit with cardiac enzyme concerns so hospitalized for 1 1/2 days. Eliminated flecainide and put me on another medication regimen. So now I am taking Eliquis and carvedilol 2x/day with losartan at night. In the meantime, EP had me wear a 24-hour holter monitor and from the data was able to identify the source of my arrhythmia--right atrium--(13%). Said that the Linq is not capturing that data and the holter did. PCP prescribed Xanax minimum dose cut in half at night to sleep. I had resisted, but he convinced me as I know my body needs deep, restorative sleep to heal. It has worked.
So, took a short road trip to visit relatives and had an afternoon BP reading of over 200/100.... Managed it with meds. Met with Cardiology PA and he advised to take amlodipine in the morning as a "BP leveler" and scheduled an appointment with Cardiologist as he is my primary cardiologist. The EP put me on the current plan and wants me to increase the carvedilol gradually I am reluctant since I seem to be worse. I am not scheduled with him until October for another 24 hour holter and then a visit with his PA. Saturday, went for a walk which I routinely take and became fatigued with tingling in my hands and last night I experienced what felt like a heart attack with BP above 200/100 again. Managed it with meds. So, my whole reason for reaching out is once again to see what I can learn that might help me have a really good consultation with my cardiologist.
@normanchester I take 2400mg fish oil (720mg Omega 3) daily and it has helped a lot with my cholesterol. No noticeable effect on a-fib. I had an ablation in 2022 and mitral valve repair in 2024, no a-fib problems since then.
