I’ve been taking Preservision for a few years. Found this site in my search for why I’m having intestinal issues. For the past about 18 months, I’ve been having random days, about every 4-8 weeks, of terrible stomach pain, diarrhea and nausea. In the past couple of months, the incidences have increased to at least once a week. The only common denominator I have been able to identify is the Preservision. I take one in the morning with breakfast. About an hour after that is when the pain starts. It usually lasts a couple of hours, but can last all day. I’m looking for answers and wondering if others have experienced something similar. It seems that most commenters have had immediate adverse symptoms rather than delayed after years of taking Pres. Would like to hear from others.

thanks for your letter after reading this you saved me. My leg muscles were so sore and tender I could barely stand up then I started to lose my balance and starting to lose my memory. My wife found your letter in this discussion I stopped taking them each day now I'm getting stronger my balance has gotten much better. My memory has also improved again. I like you would not think of this eye vitamin would have such an effect.

I switched to Preservision from Ocuvite about 4 months ago. I am experiencing muscle soreness and swelling in my calves as if they are bruised. I also had Covid October 1 that put me in the hospital -- regimen of steroids, antibiotics and Remdesivir. I ended up with a massive double ear infection but doing fairly well now. I don't know what to blame for the edema in my calves, but going off of Preservision to see if that helps.

I was diagnosed with macular degeneration about 20 years ago. My eye surgeon and ophthalmologist both urge me to use Areds 2 or Preservision. I have used one or the other with no unpleasant side-effects. I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July, my diet of fresh green leafy veggies has changed. I cannot tolerate roughage. The cancer has encircled the mesentery vein distressing my stomach emptying. Areds has stopped the macular degeneration growth i'm happy to say. Now I depend on them for my vision, which is maintaining without change . Vitamins for the eyes work if you can tolerate them! This is my experience. I hope my story helps someone experiencing this issue.

How can you know that it’s the AREDS that is arresting your MD and not just the natural progression of the disease? When I was first diagnosed by my doctor, who has since retired, I was terrified. He told me that, yes, I have dry MD, but the progression would be very slow and maybe when I reached my 80’s, I might not be able to see all that great, but it was highly unlikely I would go blind. I’m not sure how he “knows” that. My new ophth. monitors me closely and confirms that my MD is stable. I don’t think I can contribute that to the AREDS. I found this article that really resonates with me. https://www.cureamd.org/best-eye-vitamins-macular-degeneration/

I've been taking synthroid medicine at night for over 50 years at bedtime. I had one problem when I took Tums with the synthroid. I wound up having a fast heartbeat. You never take it together. I started having skipped heart beats recently and wonder if the cause is taking synthroid with Areds 2. Has anyone had this experience?

Regarding taking thyroid medications. I was directed to take nothing with Levothyroxine. So I set aside my pill before bedtime then take it when I get up to urinate at night. In that way one can absorb its full strength. Hope this helps.

Hello everyone. I also have a history of AMD on both sides of my family and was told to take 2 AREDS2.

It is a super heavy dose of vitamins which go through the liver, like everything else does in our body. This is why we need a good solid breakfast, then 1 AREDS. Then after dinner another AREDS.

I quite like that they are both red, a different color from all my other supplements‼️Thank you. Marianne
