@tallperson I always take mine with food as you should with any vitamin but you should also check with your primary physician to see if they can help you.

@chardar I didn't take it today because I still feel sick. It is like being sea sick. I hope this feeling passes.

@tallperson In talking to my doctor when I ws having that problem. She suggested I stop taking it for 2 weeks and then start it again but only one a day and then after two weeks go to two a day. It worked. I would strongly suggest you talk to your doctor about it.

Maybe it is the type you are taking and what else is in them? I take Evoa via mail and was told they do not have the same ingredients in what I planned to buy through Costco. My retinal specialist put me on these and I have had no problem. I know our bodies are all unique and we react to medications differently. If you want to try Evoa it is purchased by mail 877-390-9452. Lutein 20 mg, Zeaxanthin 4 mg. I like the idea of stopping and starting again. According to my DX I have myopic macular degeneration and the vitamins for that won’t help. I am still taking them just in case.

The zinc oxide in the AREDS 2 supplement is probably bothering your stomach. At 40mg of zinc per capsule that is a pretty high dose to take all at once. My thought would be to take a better form of zinc and add in a separate Lutein and Zeaxanthin supplement.
Basically, duplicate the AREDS 2 formula but use better quality ingredients and space out the zinc over 3 meals. If you are taking a multi-vitamin already you may be getting some of the Vitamin E, C, zinc, and copper that are in the AREDS 2 supplement. You don't want over 400iu of Vitamin E per day and if you have a sensitive stomach 500mg of Vitamin C at once may be too much for you also.
I think Macuhealth makes a lab certified supplement that has the researched amount of zeaxanthin and lutein in it.
