Are you taking any other vitamins? I was taking a multivitamin plus 400 IU of vitamin E and had to stop both and then I was OK. All I had was nausea, not lightheaded but check what else you're taking.

Remember to take AREDS with a meal to absorb nutrients and reduce stomach upset.

Hi everyone, I've been taking PreserVision AREDS2 for about two months and have recently had problems with constant lightheadedness and tiredness. I'm lightheaded all the time and get totally exhausted after doing just small tasks. I want to protect the vision I have, but these two side effects are really bothering me a lot???? What's a great-grannie to do?

@abuelagigi I never took a vitamin in my life, until optholmoligst directed me to take that vitamin in 2019. 2022, I suffered a severe copper defificiency due to high zinc in AREDS 2- directly related to that consumption. 17 infusions, 3-1/2 years of PT to get from wheelchair to walker with current neuropathy, cold and numb from knees to toes. B & L has been settling silently.

I just started taking Areds2 and I feel sick all the time. I am going to try taking it right after eating.

@tallperson I always take mine with food as you should with any vitamin but you should also check with your primary physician to see if they can help you.

@tallperson Yes, you are supposed to take them with food, as with most vitamins, I believe, as they may need fat to be absorbed. When I was put on Metformin, my GP said to take it with even a few crackers in the morning, as I don't eat breakfast, as many people react badly to taking medication on an empty stomach. I'm lucky, I guess, as I'm fine taking any kind of medication so far, including Areds2. I don't know if Areds help in the long run, but it's worth persevering with if there's any chance at all. Good luck.
