Anyone lucky enough to get Monoclonal Antibodies?

Posted by cyclones30 @cyclones30, Jan 24 10:15am

I've seen some clinical trials for LC that with very promising results with monoclonal antibodies. Of course the FDA ended their emergency use so we can't really get them in the US....can we? Anyone know how to get them yet? I've included a picture of some of the ones and their effectiveness but there are others out there too. AER002 is one that I know of one or two people that have had great results in lessening their LC symptoms. How can we get these to the general public?

@cyclones30, @johnbishop, and all...I'm very uninformed about monoclonal antibodies and such, but am more up-to-date than most due to the fact I've been very involved in the various responses to this horrible Covid virus. Living in Florida, we were blessed to have a governor who set up free monoclonal antibody clinics throughout the state for our elderly population most damaged by Covid, probably saving many lives! Since the political junk took over and these were closed, the CDC got involved and did its closing thing, they are just now coming back into view as a treatment for long-term Covid as I read.

So, having multiple autoimmune diseases several residual from 2 known Covid infections, July 2023 and January 2024, when I see my rheumatologist next week, this is one of the first questions I'll be asking...after I request and attempt to get a prescription for hydroxychloroquine added to my Prednisone for treatment of PMR, GCA, etc. I will get what info I can about the monoclonal antibody situation and get back to you following the discussion. Hopefully, it will share some positive info, helpful to us all!!!

I'm a determined older woman with many issues in this body, I think many are caused by this infection as well as who knows what else...I'll let you know my findings.

Blessings as we walk this crazy journey, Elizabeth

I am waiting for the availability of new monoclonal antibody treatments because I can’t safely take the vaccines. I have spoken to people at both AstraZeneca and Regeneron regarding their treatments. Both have new or modified monoclonal antibodies in ongoing trials. Once the trials are successfully completed they have to go through the approval process. My local, television, medical news reporter told me that now that the pandemic is considered “over”, they are not currently fast tracking approval so the process could potentially take a very long time. That means that for those of us who desperately want or need these drugs, it could still be a very long wait.

@detc, Interesting...I can't take the vaccines either and have had 2 covid infections in the last 7 months with several residual illnesses, PMR/GCA/and others...I had 3 days of IV antiviral infusions that helped keep me out of the hospital this last time. I did have covid pneumonia and am just now getting over that but with microscopic poly analgesic autoimmune disease with kidney, skin, joint, and lung involvement. So, the monoclonal antibodies are an important possible treatment for me!

Hopefully, the wait won't be long!
Blessings, Elizabeth
