I'm also a type 11 diabetic and have been having some issue with my feet legs and hands and Crawley feelings ,on gabapentin. Keeps me up at nights just trying to understand. Have a Dr's appt at the end of the month.

@drs22

I have idiopathic PN in the lower extremities - feet and legs below the knee. I also have spine issues and had a fusion and laminectomy 9 years ago. Recent MRI still shows issues but nothing that indicates the reason for PN. Recently I started experiencing a burning/tingling feeling in my outer thighs especially if I have been standing or walking for a period of time. I will discuss this with my neurologist at the next appointment, but I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this symptom.

Hello @drs22. I am sorry you are going through this.

Since there is an existing discussion on PN, you will notice I have moved your post here: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/anyone-here-dealing-with-peripheral-neuropathy/

Here are some resources for burning that may be of help:
— Burning feet and legs: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/burning-feet-and-legs/
— neuropathy and burning feet: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/neuropathy-4/
— Burning Feet syndrome: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/burning-feet-syndrome/

You may have seen some of the home remedies but they may be helpful if you haven't already tried them.
— 9 home remedies for burning feet: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/home-remedies-for-burning-feet

Have you tried any of these?

Welcome @karina1954, Sorry to hear you joined our neuropathy club but I'm glad you found us so that you know you are not alone. I think each of us have had similar thoughts when the symptoms started showing up. It's good to hear you have a doctors appointment at the end of the month. Since you mentioned you have type 1 diabetes, you might want to read through the following discussion to learn what other members have shared.

Have you been diagnosed with neuropathy or do you just have the symptoms?

Hello @pamelaz, Welcome to Connect. I have no experience with Nortriptyline but @melody12 @patriciao @artscaping @sharonbrenna and @rwinney have posted about it in other discussions and may have some experience to share with you.

Have you been diagnosed with neuropathy? Do you mind sharing a little more about your diagnosis and symptoms?

Today my doc suggested trying pre-gabapentin in the morning as gabapentin makes me drowsy and woozy. Anybody else on pre-gabapentin and do you notice a difference? bcool123

Are you confusing gabapentin with pre-Pregabalin (Lyrica). 2 different meds. Both have been used for nerve pain.
