Anyone have experience with treatments for urge Incontinence?
Does anyone have experience using Mirabegron for urinary urge incontinence? I'm considering it for a long-term issue, but only if it doesn't cause or worsen cognitive issues.

I’ve been taking it for about six months or more. It took a while before it started to work, but now it works almost too well. There are times than I wanna pee and I can’t yet. I have the urgency. No dry mouth at least from that.
Pretty expensive. Make sure your insured carries it

2 ReactionsMy urologist put me on mirabegron. I took one pill and didn't sleep for 24 hours, nervousness, dry eyes. I didn't have any incontinence until the next morning when maybe the drug wore off. Going to quit this drug as I can't continue with no sleep and the other side effects. Too expensive anyway. I did have pelvic floor surgery but the incontinence continues. The doctor suggested botox but the side effects sound undesirable. Why can't our drugs or treatments be without side effects so people can treat symptoms.

2 ReactionsAs I read through this discussion from the start (2023) to present it kept occurring to me that all meds have side effects. It is important to consider this BEFORE starting a med. A good provider &/or pharmacist can help you weigh risks and benefits of a medication or treatment before you get started. There are few things more disheartening than to treat one ailment only to cause another and not realize until too late. Do research, ask questions, get answers so that you can make informed decisions regarding your health care. Be an advocate for yourself. This discussion hits close to home. I know a few folks in this exact situation. My own situation involved taking a medication to treat gastroparesis (an autonomic neuropathy complication of diabetes) but it caused Tardive Dyskinesia (uncontrolled muscle movements). It helped the gastroparesis but the TD was terrible and wasn’t diagnosed for quite awhile. Thankfully it was eventually diagnosed and I’m nearly “normal” now. That experience has made me more cautious about doing my due diligence.

1 ReactionWow ive been on Mirabegron now for two weeks and the only side effect so far is dry mouth and possibly flushing (red face ) . There is another drug called Trospium someone told me about but don't think we can get it in canada but would be interested to hear if anyone else knows about it ? They said there was no side effects at all , worth looking into .

1 ReactionI tried Mirabegron and struggled mightily with anxiety and sleep disorders. It worked, but I had to give it up.

1 ReactionIt has been a couple of years, and I don’t remember much. I was nervous and anxious and getting up in the middle of the night to pee, At least four or five times. I was disappointed because, although I did not wet my pants or have pee running down my leg, I was so nervous I could barely function, possibly because of the lack of sleep. Worst reaction I’ve ever had to a drug. Just stopped it, with no difficulty.
