Anyone have experience with treatments for urge incontinence?

Does anyone have experience using Mirabegron for urinary urge incontinence? I'm considering it for a long-term issue, but only if it doesn't cause or worsen cognitive issues.

Thank you for this advise.
Could you share the Mayo diet please.

Hello, I just went to the Mayo Clinic website about overactive bladder. Their website has a list of food which irritate the bladder. Alcohol, citrus fruits, vinegar, tomatoes and more. I even Google to find if a food is bladder friendly. It does take some research. The bladder friendly diet is strict but it is helping me with my overactive bladder.

I feel your frustrations, im on
Mirabegron for a few months finding it doesn’t give me any relief.
Hope you find something that may work.

I have had relief trying estradiol topical estrogen cream. This is good for ladies of a certain age whose bladder symptoms may be related to vaginal atrophy..

@queenie2030 Hi,I have been taking trospium for about 4 months and am all of a sudden, very constipated. Do you notice the same thing? I was on oxybutinin for about 25 years and switched because of the warning about dementia. Trospium is supposed to not cause any of that.
Good luck at your next appointment.

I saw my urologist this past week and she said Trospium is the least likely of all the meds for OAB to cause cognitive problems. She said she has never had a patient (her practice is years long and large) complain about memory or confusion in regard to Trospium. I think it is other meds I am taking so will continue with Trospium since it is 100% effective for me.

@queenie2030 I am glad you got that cleared up. My urologist thought I should stay on Oxybutinin,he didn’t feel like I was in danger of dementia, but I requested the change. Trospium has not helped that much, but I’ll give it more time.

Good morning @ldrlaw. That is exactly what my PCP said. I had been on Oxybutynin for several years. I posted above about my positive reactions to Myrbetriq. I was surprised that my Urologist had not heard of it or prescribed it. So my message today is to never bypass your PCP. What a great support she has been for 10 years. This is not the first time she has identified and proposed a medication change.

Her specialty is family care. She helps young kids prepare for school athletics and other activities. I sometimes think I am really one of her children.

I wonder how many other medications are also doing more harm than good as we learn more about our body's reactions.

Lately, I have read about OTC medications which have recently been found to still have
negative elements that were identified years ago. We all need to be our own advocates in many ways.

May you be safe, protected, and free of inner and outer harm.
Chris

@artscaping I have had this problem all my life. I am 76 years old and I have had every single thing that could help me. Surgeries and all medications. Every procedure that did not work. Good luck ladies, I hope you find a good doctor and find medication that will work for you. 😊
