Anyone handle knee replacement surgery pain? How?
Both my knees are shot from OA. Tried cortisone, Plasma Replacement shots (PRP), failed arthroscopic surgery, Tai Chi, PT. Haven’t tried Genicular nerve block or ablation yet. Total knee replacement is what they want to do. But I’m TERRIFIED of rehab pain. Fibromyalgia makes everything hurt 10x worse, and healing takes 3x longer. I’m paralyzed by fear, especially if surgery would fail and it has to be redone. I can barely walk up stairs. Biking or elliptical exercise for 20 is becoming too painful. Popping Celebrex, Flexeril, Tramadol already. Depression getting bad.
Currently at Pain Clinic asking them how they could help me through knee replacement, so I don’t want to die of pain.

I was dx with Fibromyalgia 35 yrs ago. Had both knees done within the past three years. I have tightness and some pain in my knees every day until I get things warmed up. But then, it’s okay. But if I sit for any length of time it is tight all over again. Nights are rough with aching. I feel like I need more time to recover but that is my situation as of now. I hope this helps you to know what to expect. Knee replacement…. I’d rather give birth again!!!

1 Reaction@fmcfs no I don’t feel I’m that bad yet but certainly would do it if things get worse
