Any success stories about Evenity to share with fearful me?
After acquiring 2 compression fractures, I am biting the bullet and going for my first Evenity shot in 2 days. I am afraid of everything from heart palpitations (I have AFIB) to muscle spasms and joint pain and everything else . Has anyone been ok on the shots? Or only had minor issues? I would love to read encouraging words. My REMS scores were ok: hip -1.0, spine -1.2, but my DEXA scores were much worse: hip -2.8, spine-4.8, so I feel I have little choice now. Many thanks.

Hey dbamos1945,
Dopey me, I thought Evenity was a drug, therefore, covered by insurance under, wait for it, drugs. But noooo!
I guess I could've dealt with monthly injections if necessary - would've forced my husband or sister to administer them ;), - but my previous doc said Evenity couldn't be injected at home.
Thanks for the info. You have my sincere respect!
Cheers! Beanieone, over . . .
Hi callmekate,
I did the full year of Evenity shots without incident - I did have a bit of soreness and some redness in my arms at the injection sites, but it was smooth sailing. The shots can sting a bit, but only for a few seconds. For me, it was about like getting a flu shot, both in the way it felt and having sore arms for a few days.
There are members here who have their Evenity injections in their legs or abdomens. It made sense for me to just have them in the back of my upper arms, but if you're comfortable with other areas, it seems like it may come down to a personal preference. Also, if you ask real nicely for the syringes to be taken out of the fridge 1/2 hour or so prior to your appointment, it surely helps.
Keep calm and carry on! Cheers!
I just had my fourth month of Evenity injections and have had no side effects other than a sore arm for a couple days and a little bit of ache in my elbow and shoulder. Nothing else
Of course it’s okay, Tillymack!
I suffered from so many severe adverse reactions while on Tymlos that it became intolerable to continue with the med. It, Tymlos, just didn’t like me very much. Fortunately, Tymlos has a very short half life, so my issues cleared quickly after I stopped using it.
I should note that I’ve not had adverse reactions to Evenity or Reclast.
All the best! Cheers!
No. The cost is covered if I’m using a participating provider to my insurance. I get the injections in both arms.
I took Evenity for a full year, with only minor side effects. My arms always got "goose eggs" on them for a couple of days and were a little sore. Once I woke up in the middle of the night after I had my injection and was very achy. I took some Advil and was fine in the morning. The good news is that I had a dexa after my last injection, and I gained 18% in my spine and about 2% in my hips.
I see several comments about insurance. Generally, Evenity is administered in a physician's office. That makes it covered under Part B of Medicare and not Part D. I would think it would be the same for those of you not yet on Medicare, in that it would be covered under your medical coverage and not your drug coverage.
No, I had it done just now at the hospital's cancer clinic, where they do infusions, too. So far, so good. My compression oain is immense this morning and I know some of that is due to anxiety. Hopefully that will subside now that the deed is done, so to speak.
"My arms always got "goose eggs" on them for a couple of days"
Hi, what exactly do you mean by that?
Sorry, its a local expression. I had minor hard swollen spots where the injections were done.
No, I switched from prolia
