Any advice on how to speed this up?
I attach my Aerobika to the the Aeroeclipse XL nebulizer with the Pari ProNeb Max compressor. This is to nebulize 7% sodium chloride solution. But the entire process takes about 45 minutes.
Doing this twice a day, along with still nebulizing levalbuterol, is upwards of 2 hours a day (morning and night).
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to nebulize with an aerobika faster? I go to work every day, and I have to get up at the crack of dawn to get all this done before leaving the house. It's exhausting and very time consuming.
I definitely want to nebulize with the aerobika, but I would be very grateful on how to make it go faster. I thought the processor I had was supposed to be powerful. Any suggestions please?

@yorkieyoli I know how you feel, I was working full time up until June of this year and it was very challenging. I also use the Aerobika attached to the Aeroclipse XL to nebulize 7% saline 2x per day. I use 4ml per session and go 15 minutes on 5 setting with deep breaths and holds. After 15 minutes, I just breathe normally for another 10 minutes and after that the 4ml is just about gone. I am using the OMBRA compressor and I keep the Aeroclipse on the breath actuated setting. That is still 25 minutes but definitely better than 45. Do you change out the filter on your compressor regularly? Is it older and maybe not as efficient?
@mjb24 - My filter is due to be changed next month so I don't think it's that. But perhaps I'll change it now.
Can you please explain what you mean by deep breaths and holds? How do I do that exactly? Maybe that is what I need to be doing. I'm also on the 5 setting, and supposedly using the faster spray (my aeroclipse points to the solid arrow, not the one with the dots).
@yorkieyoli What I meant by deep breath and hold was that I inhale deeply and hold for 3 or 4 seconds then exhale slowly and somewhat forcefully. This really helps with getting the mucus and mucus plugs out. After 10 or 15 minutes I can see that it is all clear mucus so I just continue with normal breathing to get the remainder of the saline into my lungs. Do you have an active infection or are you nebulizing daily for your bronchiectasis?

2 ReactionsIs it all done with aeroclipse attached to aerobika?
Yorkieyoli. If you use levalbuterol inhaler it saves time. Yes you have to wait 15 minutes before you start nebulizing sodium chloride but in the meantime I prepare oatmeal or put cream on my face or prepare something for the day so I don’t have to do it later. So ask your doctor if it is your option.

1 Reaction@lilianna oy - my doctor never said to wait 15 minutes between levalbuterol and saline. I do it immediately. And Yes, it's all done with the aerobika attached to the aeroclipse

1 Reaction@mjb24 I was diagnosed with MAC and bronchiectasis, but I've always been pretty much asymptomatic, except for a bit of mucus in the morning. I'm going for a CT scan soon, so I'm hoping the MAC is not making things worse. I've never been on the big 3, and my doctor is hesitant to put me on it while I'm asymptomatic. But my last chest CT (6 months ago) definitely showed the MAC was likely advancing. I don't know what the right thing to do is.

1 ReactionYou indicate MAC. Do you know specifically what type of MAC infection you have? Do you know receive the lab results for your review?

I believe you wait if you use an inhaler. If you nebulizer I think you can use sodium chloride right away- I think but please check
I do the saline immediately after nebbing albuterol, which is how Mayo taught. I occasionally use an inhaler instead and just wait 5-10" based on a thread on wait time a couple years ago. I didn't ask MD, but it's a fast acting inhaler.
