Acid reflux

Anyone out there? I have this bad. But also have been throwing up and diarrhea. Am trying to find out what causes the second situation. Thanks. T in Pinehurst NV

I have had severe acid reflux for years. I take Nexium, and with a few exceptions avoid all citrus foods, coffee, spicy and fried foods. Cheat and eat chocolate maybe twice a week. Do not drink liquor, an occasional champagne. Never smoked.
Have had ulcers and an esophagus motility problem . Now also taking Sucralfate tablets that I mix with water. Less expensive than liquid form to coat my stomach one-half hour before taking Nexium before meals.

I am experiencing very loose bowel movements very shortly after eating.
I eat Greek Yogurt, drink Dan Active, and today started taking ALIGN,
a pro-biotic. Hope this helps curtail bowel movements. I can only take Tylenol for any kind of pain or I develop Ulcers .

Good luck

Yes, it does wonders for acid reflux, indigestion, ulcers…..anything digestive. It also boosts your immune system and is great for colon health. Be sure you are getting an Aloe Juice that uses whole leaf and removes aloin, that is a laxative that is naturally in an aloe leaf…..

I buy mine online @ http://www.MarketPalmCoast.com it’s called Ultimate Aloe Juice. If you type that into the sites search engine it will pop right up. My kids like the strawberry kiwi, I prefer the pomegranate or cranberry apple….have never tried the natural. Shipping is free and fast.

Bless you! With all this going on I’ll throw in a few Hail Mary’s and I’m not even catholic! My husband has esophageal cancer and it started out yrs. ago with a hiatial hernia surgery, and episodes of acid indigestion. After an exam and many EGD’s the Dr. called it Barretts Disease. Now this is where things get worse. About a yr. ago he was tested and he had a tumor in the wall of the esophogus. He’s had chemo and radiation, but we found out just yesterday it can’t be safely removed due to his engourged veins. That being our medical problems, I’m just here to ask any and all who deal with ongoing indigestion to be tested as often as they can for this cancer. It’s a very bad one to be rid of and if you catch it early you can add days and hopefully years to your life span.

I had bad reflux problems for decades.. finally took Nexium for a long time.. Local GI doc said it could be corrected by surgery.. a Nissen.. that failed miserably.. gave me Gastropanesis.. that was life changing.. now I have to eat very slow.. small portions… be careful what you eat.. so have you tried to adopt the discipline of good eating habits.. instead of looking for a magical potion that will fix everything..?? Try it.. the results will save you a lot of pain.. I wish I had done that.. slow down enjoy eating and conversation

Has anyone been on H2 blockers [Ranitidine, Cimetidine, etc] for longer periods of time. ??
I have been on PPIs for ten years and they have stopped working. PPIs were supposed to be the better choice for the long haul.
I have heard H2 blockers work well for the short term but will stop working if you use them for too long and then you get rebound Reflux which is even worse. Too many horror stories with surgery, so avoiding.
Thanks Bill

Hi. I am looking for people to talk with not websites. I have read all the mayo clinic stuff plus most research.

@artist28374 -I have suffered from acid reflux (GERD) for years due to a small hiatus hernia. I take a Prevacid capsule at bed time and have the top of my bed raised on risers (available in any bedding store or Amazon) and that has helped me a lot. I also stop eating and drinking fluids by 9:00 p.m. I sometimes have episodes of reflux pain during the day (or even during the night, although rarely) and these episodes are relieved just by sipping a bit of water. Pain/burning subsides in minutes.
