Abdominal aortic aneurysm and epilepsy
I don’t have appointments until September 1 cardiologist and my yearly neurologist on the 12th. They found the aneurysm during my tests for 3 broken ribs in July saw my pcp for follow up for the ribs set up the cardiologist my other retired cardiologist retired I had seen for clearance for a surgery I had last September everything was fine. My family cardiac history is horrendous lost both my sisters 13 years ago a couple months apart from massive heart attacks 35 and 33. Grandma passed aged 30 my moms brother aorta ruptured at 27 death, parents dad was 38 mom was 48 both also had open heart surgery my father and his brother both had abdominal aortic aneurysm repaired so I have been closely monitoring my heart so to find out when I broke ribs and when I left he said you do know your aorta is enlarged to 4.2 I was shocked so going down rabbit holes I’m sure like everyone else I hadn’t even thought about my epilepsy last seizure 2025 usually well controlled but they can always breakthrough and my blood pressure goes sky high I’ll let both know hopefully they can make a plan but I’m also used to people suddenly dying of cardiac problems so I’m scared what if I do have a seizure will it burst aorta and boom no more me even stressing about it blood pressure up any advice if anyone has both conditions advice
