69% blockage of carotid artery
I just had a scan of my carotid artery. The results were 59%-69% blocked on my right carotid artery. I had a TIA 15 years ago. My cardiologist suggested taking baby aspirin daily. But upon reading that anyone with a 70% blockage should see a vascular surgeon. I am waiting to book an appointment with the surgeon. I’ve had pain on my right arm when I ride my bike. Is this cause for concern. Anybody gone through this?

@billw822026 That is what the cardiologist is for. 🙂
Also, "my heart is fine" doesn't mean you don't have cardiovascular disease. You do. Your heart muscle can be perfectly fine, but with plaque buildup in the arteries. The carotid is just one artery in the neck. You can also have a stroke if a piece of plaque in one of the major heart arteries breaks off and causes a clot. In fact, that is by far the most common scenario. So, better to get the full picture, right? Knowledge is power.
