5 yrs post covid. Is there any help out there?

Posted by kevtan @kevtan, Jan 6 7:00pm

I can't take those any longer. I have been suffering with Long Covid for over 5 yrs. The biggest problem I have is finding doctors that understand this issue. Ringing in my ears and loss of hearing in left ear. Brain fog still. No short term memory. Depression sleep issues. Nightmares. Pulse rate between 38 to 45. Headaches. Rashes come and go. Wake up with blue feet. Hands and feet fall asleep in bed. Vision issues. No Libido since covid, none. Neck pain on left side of face. Fatigue. Try to get a good night's sleep but never works. Every 2 hrs up. Please Please my main thing is I would love to see a doctor that will listen and might run some test on me. This has to happen soon. Please help, any help.
Thanks
Kevin in FL

Hello to anyone reading this. Well here goes looking for some help. I suffered depression for over 30 yrs. Got better much happier and had many years of good health and traveling. Then 2020 hit and Covid. This is when my life and millions more changed. I have slipped so far worse then ever before since getting Covid in Nov 2020 and then now Long Covid for over 5 yrs. Everything I have been through with doctors has been the Worst. So many failed attempts to get medical help from so many doctors. Nothing yet. I can Not believe that our doctors and the United States has let the millions of Americans suffer with this Horrible illness. Not only do I suffer from Awful depression again I have at least 20 other medical issues to go along with my depression. I watched a movie last night, actually a comedy about life, travel and good times and happy people having fun. What was worse for me was watching this and bringing back memories that life used to be good, life used to be fun, and now all I have is pain. Mental pain, and Long Covid issues with no help from anyone, let alone any doctors. It is so hard to explain this awful feeling I have had for over 5 yrs. I would not wish this on anyone. Watching a happy comedy movie made me cry so many tears. Watching it made me realize that what I had for some 20 years is gone forever and I will never get that back. I am now crying as I type this because all I want to do is die in my sleep. When I was young with depression I explained it to doctors, therapist that all I did every night before bed was ask God to please let me die in my sleep. Well now I am at a point worse then before. I truly believe that none of us will ever get our normal happy lives back. Doctors and the medical community just don't care about us. I am not suicidal or anything so keep the white straight jackets away. I am not and never will do that. I dont not want to spend eternity in Hell. But as of yesterday and last night I am back to asking God to just let me go peacefully in my sleep. I guess this is all I get. At least I had 20 years to travel and really be happy. When I said goodbye to my talk therapist over 25 yrs ago I told her Valerie, that all I wanted is to be normal, be happy 1 yr before I die. Well I got 20 times that much so I feel blessed for that. I am just tired and can't take getting No help from the medical community. Maybe you all are saying Kevin you can't ask God to take you in your sleep he is not that way. I kinda understand that but only he knows how sick, how Sad I am. I am in so much pain both physically and mentally. So again, I wish all of us help from this long covid. If the medical community could get help from a volunteer that is still alive to experiment on I would give myself to help others. In 2021 I said this is awful. I said Kevin how long will this fo on? Then a doctor told me "You People" are just going to have to wait 3 or 4 years. Well it has been. I think that woman doctor was wrong, maybe she meant to say, you people will never get better from this, ever.

@kevtan Kev, I ask the same thing every night that I don't wake up. I have very high BP and still no stroke! Why? Covid has taken everything from me!! I have no life just existing.

@misslauren
Does beet juice or berberine not help with your blood pressure?
Also it is good to check your homocysteine levels because lowering those can help with stroke and heart risk.
I know if the blood pressure is related to cardio disease that supplementing with those products will not help but in that case a cardiologist should be able to help.
Thinking about you and wishing for the best for you.

Its awful. And family and friends don't understand. I am not giving up yet. I just went for 4 more blood test today. $155. Out of pocket. Doctors won't write us prescriptions to get blood work because they Don't believe in Long Covid. I wonder if any Doctors have long covid? Who do they see?
Best of luck to you and all of us.

@kevtan I would recommend finding an NP in your medical community. They can be licensed with their appropriate training to just everything a doctor can do except surgery (state law dependent). NP spent time to go through my symptoms and not just spend the 10-15 min. medical symptom review. NPs can order labs for investigations of unknowns of Long Covid. My NP became my advocate. When I asked her 'how is my immunity system doing' she ordered: Complete T-Cell work up. T-Cells and T cytotoxic cells, ratios and absolutes include: CD 3, CD 8, CD 4, CD 16, CD56. That revealed my immune system was in overdrive and it was related to my body's inability to clear the Covid spike proteins attached to my cells.
2. SARS-CoV-2 Antibody Profile Test: CoV-2 Antibody Profile. Looking for Spike AB Dilution (normal range < 0.8 U/ml). (Note: some patients called this test D Timer. Test looks for micro-clotting and provides a 'numeric value' for bloods spike protein counts. Mayo Clinic reported in their studies most LC sufferers had counts of 17,000 to 25,000.

Thank you for all that information. I will keep looking for a good NP. I am getting rid of 3 of my doctors. No help from them, so why stay?

PVS "post vaccinated syndrome " . Yale school of medicine term for long covid. Google it and get the latest studies being done by the many schools of medicine.
I am 87years old and have been in PVS for 5years. I have experienced all of your symptoms on and off for 5years. My depressions were so severe that I contemplated suicide.
No help from the doctors because they can't diagnose something that hasn't been identified as a chronic disease.
So get your ass on your computer and do the digging.
I am now awake and alert for 3weeks without another episode. With help from my family and my primary doctor I changed my diet, (lots of proteins)reduced medications and escaped the sleep deprivation that has plagued me for 5years. Everyone is different. What we all have in common is PVS that may not go away for the rest of our lives.
There is no help out there you have to help yourself.

Wow. Thank you for all of that information. I just wish more doctors would just read up and see that what millions of us are going through and realize it is a medical condition. If I take my car to a mechanic for new tires and thats all they do, I dont expect him to repair my transmission. I just wish family doctors and even neurologist would accept that millions suffer from this. They don't have to cure us but damit, listen to us. Stop Gaslighting us.
