I don't want to be mean but I don't a lot of people around until my immune system builds back up. How long are you typically supposed to wait

@msrlallen, I hope that your 1st week at home has gone smoothly. I can remember how busy my days were with medicine schedule, labs, naps, healing, eating, communication with friends and family...But if you get a free moment, we would love to hear from you.
You are awesome! Congratulations! Very thankful that I was able to have my transplant in April 2023. It has definitely been a process full of adjustments. But every step is well worth it! May you continue a long healthy life!
Welcome to Connect, @timprince. And Congratulations on your heart transplant April 2023!
I had a liver/kidney transplant in 2009, and I wish you a long healthy life with your heart transplant.
Would you share a little about yourself? How are you doing and what kind of adjustments have helped you along your path to recovery?
Thank you so much 🙏🙏
Congratulations on your new heart! I am heart-double lung from April 2021. I was in the hospital for about 4 weeks and then in Rochester for another 2 months. We live 4 1/2 hours away so in the beginning my visitors were only parents, husband and in-laws on a rotating basis. When I got home people knew that I couldn’t get sick, so they were all VERY respectful and careful not to be near me if they were sick in any way. Since this was also during Covid times, it was extra important.
Recovery is challenging but do all your PT, get as much sleep as your body needs and follow your med regimen and you’ll see big improvements.
Good luck!
