PVCs back again

Posted by pvctom2021 @pvctom2021, Dec 17, 2023

Hi, pvctom here,

Just wanted to say hi and mention my dreaded nighttime PVCs are back..been slowly sneaking up on me…god I hate these uncomfortable sensations…thank god I’m over 8 months since my THR..now on top of morning fears and worry, I can almost guarantee these things happen later in the evening…belching and bad digestion doesn’t help…I get to see my psychiatrist this Wednesday about the morning fears…glad I can come here to write something to somebody…hope everyone here has a peaceful nice Christmas…

Hi, pvctom back

Hello, I just wanted to update this group on the morning fears..well, I saw the psychiatrist yesterday and she typed and listened and I talked…and talked..she was very nice and soft spoken, maybe not even half my age and I left with a follow up with appointment in a month with a different doctor???..she didn’t offer any kind of advice as to what to do or anything about cognitive thinking or well…maybe I expected too much…she wrote a prescription for an anti depression medication..I explained that my sleep gets broken up into segments and 3,4 hours..then I catch a nap during the day…she was very nice, and commented that I wasn’t getting enough sleep..overall I got nothing really solid out of the almost hour long session…and the PVCs, well like many I’ve read about here, they come in pesky waves…my fears and worries may come from the realities of life..but most of my feelings are not necessarily facts. We just keep trudging the road..I want to wish all here a happy, peaceful Christmas 🎄 and may we also
Have a Happy 😃 New Year

I posted once before my question has anyone ever been hypnotized to not feel these PVCs and PACs?

Hi,
I think 🤔 that’s a wonderful question and I’ve often wondered that myself.. I have always been amazed when doctors tell me they have patients who don’t feel them..what a blessing in disguise that is…bless you ..
Very good question…

I also have PVC's. I take triple magnesium complex 400mg. I get it from CVS. It's a powder in a capsule. Cardiologist recommended magnesium years ago. I am also on 25 mg metoprolol.

I’m also in 25 mg metropolol twice daily among other meds…👍 I hate these things at night…

Does that magnesium reduce your PVCs. My burden is2%

It isn't hurting it so....I would think something is, either the metoprolol or magnesium and Coq 10 and fish oil or the combo of them all.

Does a pacemaker stop PVCs and PACs or tachycardia’s?

Hi @713

I’ve had these PVCs and PACs for decades, they come and go, mainly at night…very troubling for those who already have worry and anxiety…my doctors have always said that if the daily amount is under 15% burden, they don’t want to do ablation or pacemaker…but I’ve heard so much from different people and doctors…you’re most likely to find an answer on this forum full of good mentors and people who have had experience with your question…happy holidays and peace ✌️ to you

Hi I'm new the group. I too have anxiety that affected my heart and started horrible PVCs. To the point that I couldn't stand them anymore. As you know the doctors, ER visits and everything that goes with it. They ended up putting me on a medication I don't know if I can say that here or not but what they gave me was called flecanide. It is an anti-arrhythmia drug usually used for atrial fibrillation and they found that they could use it off label for PVCs. For me it was a miracle. Unfortunately flecanide is a drug that doesn't get along with a lot of other medications. Like I said I don't know if I'm allowed to say that it's not medical advice it's just with the doctor gave me my arrhythmia specialist and it worked. But one must be very very careful with they take in addition to this medication cuz it doesn't play well with others. I hope and pray your PVCs go away and never come back because they are certainly hard to deal with at times and they do affect your life and your quality of life. I hope that you find peace and let the doctors can help you 🙏🏻

Hello and Welcome,

I can certainly empathize with you and the awful experience of PVCs and PACs…. I have had them in and off for many years…as I write or type this post I have had several.. I have morning anxiety as well that contributes to them…am taking several meds to HBP,
CAD, and GAD.. as well GERD…sometimes my PVCs may be irritated or exacerbated by these conditions but definitely with anxiety and digestive issues…if you have been given a good check up and testing by your cardiologist and they have done recent work ups, the thing that I’ve been told to do by scores of cardiologists and electrophysiologist to try to ignore the irregular cadence that these PVCs produce…it’s easier said that done … but you are at a good place here at Mayo Connect..many wonderful mentors and all here support each other…try to be calm and I always try to walk everyday…it does help with these awful pesky skips and multiple runs…please have a peaceful day 🙏 pvctom
