Breast cancer patients are advised to massage their bald heads with a few drops of rosemary oil mixed with a scentless carrier oil. Some studies say it's just as effective as hair-growing prescription drugs. I've been doing this since chemo ended 2 weeks ago. There are hair products that include rosemary oil, many quite expensive. Rosemary oil and a carrier oil are way more affordable. Google it!
Have you had covid? I had a drastic loss of hair right after I got sick. I have been diagnosed with post covid syndrome by my ENT. I initially thought it was just my taste and smell that was affected. As it turns out, I also had other issues that took me to a neurologist. Now, I think it caused the hair loss too. I have photos of it fine right before I got sick. Regardless of the cause, I’m going to start topical minoxidil. It’s really frightening this could progress. It seems to have slowed down, but I have no idea what to expect. There are a lot of stories in the media about it,
As I got older and started losing my hair, I realized why so many old men wear hats. A hat will protect the top of your head from the sun.
To add to the mystery, I just received a letter that they have detected double the amount of lead there is supposed to be in our public water system! I have no idea how long this has been going on. I’ve been drinking 16 ounces of it per day. The rest is bottled water.
@gemjaynes, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. My heart goes out to you and I wish better health for you. You are a trooper since you have made it through chemo. I had a friend who went through all of that, too, and she is a survivor! With all good wishes, @joybringer1
Hi! Sorry for the hair loss. On top of that I was exhausted all the time, not a bad attitude just physically wiped. I had a lab test for Epstein Barr virus and I’d been harboring it but it was causing all this. It’s over a year now but I’ve rested ALOT and hair is full again. I also took biotin per my doctor. I hope a good recovery for you!
Please check out this topical medication minoxidil…I did because I have suffered from hair loss for years…minoxidil should not be taken lightly, it has been known to affect the heart, I found it too scary to take the risk.
I’m talking with my dermatologist about it. And, I’m going to duscuss it with my primary too.
That’s a good idea because you never know how it can affect you…obviously it’s still a viable drug because it’s still being sold, good luck with finding the right thing to use, I certainly understand how awful it is to lose your hair since I’ve had this problem most of my life.
She wants to examine me again. I found a hair loss photo online that looks exactly like mine did recently. It’s crazy how much it resembles my hair. And, it was a post covid patient and hair loss she had from that. Still, I’m no expert. I fear they really won’t know the cause for me. The only real treatment is the minoxidil. Unless it’ll grow back on its own. Except for platelet rich injections and pulse therapy, but to grow hair, that’s the only option. I can do local or oral. Pills make more sense. I hope I can take them. Oh, I have to get a hair topper to wear in public.
Thanks to you all for the kind words.
