I have multifocal lung cancer (multiple cancerous nodules in my lungs-a chronic situation) which was diagnosed in Dec 2021 - I had my first case of Covid 2/1/2022 one month after first lung surgery - despite my isolation to avoid Covid. Thankfully I was vaccinated, and I had a mild case, just a congested cough which went away with antiviral treatment. So no, Covid did not cause my cancer. Research lung nodules, they are common and can be many things.
I caught Covid a second time in August 2022 with barely any symptoms.
As information comes in, it would appear that catching Covid multiple times is not good as one can have various health issues down the road. And people with long Covid are having a bad time.
Thank you so much for sharing I greatly appreciate it.
Did you get the vaccine as well?
I got the Pfizer Covid vax last week. Arm was sore for a day. Nothing else has happened.
I did not get any other vax at that time.
I have an autoimmune disease. I'm glad I got the vax.
I found soaking in a hot bath helped with sore arm.
Me too, I am happy I now have all my vaccines. People with lung cancer go bonkers at having other respiratory problems!!!!
Besides latest Covid vaccine, I got my RSV and flu shots as well. And after seeing a picture of a friend with shingles over her only good eye, I went out and got that vaccine too!!! So I am up to date on all that medical science offers me. Whatever the risk in any vaccine, the risk of the disease is far worse for me!!! I did keep my vaccines spaced apart. And be sure to keep track of which arm the vaccine goes into because if one does something like a PET scan, they will ask that - it impacts lymph nodes, so they want to know in analyzing scan. Same thing when having mammogram.
I have been dealing with long covid for over two years. I have had the latest covid booster. I also got prevnar 20 for pneumonia. My lung specialist has not advised me to take RSV vax.
I have LC with some significant lingering issues including phlegm in throat, tingling in hands andvfeet, smell and taste disorder, since Sept 2023. After my neurologist gave me the clear, I got the covid booster first and a week later the flu vaccine. I felt no ill effects and returned the next day to get the RSV vaccine. I’m really glad I did, because I’m pretty sure I have RSV right now. It’s kicking my butt today. I worked from home, but felt really crappy. I have all the symptoms such as dry cough, sneezing, runny nose, fatigue, etc. My dad also has it and my mom is now recovering. I thought I was improving last night, but today it has grown worse. Ugh….I can’t imagine the severity if I didn’t have the vaccine on board. With Type 1 diabetes, I get vaccines if available. They have saved my life. And,
Oh, this most recent covid vaccine made me a little uncomfortable that night, but nothing too bad. I have had some improvement in some of my LC symptoms, but not of my taste issue, though smell issue and tingling are better.
In addition to continuing to battle long COVID (I got COVID in March 2020), I also have a primary immunodeficiency. My immunologist strongly recommended both the updated COVID vaccine and also that I get the RSV vaccine. After having gotten the mRNA COVID vaccines previously, I went with Novavax for the updated version, and was pleasantly surprised to suffer NO adverse events, unlike with the mRNAs. I ran a fever for about a day and a half following the RSV vaccine, but no other ill effects. Neither vaccine affected my long COVID either positively or negatively.
I got the flu vaccine without consequences. My internist said to wait on the booster and RSV given the severity of my post-Covid symptoms. Just one data point. 🙂
