Ears are main post Covid complaint
Anybody else with ears being your main post Covid complaint?
I’m sixteen plus months of feeling underwater with ear pressure. My symptoms started after I thought I was fully recovered from a moderate case of Covid. Six weeks after Covid infection we went to Hawaii. The plane flight seemed to trigger these ear issues.
It started just as the ear pressure thing, but over these last many months it has cascaded into, tinnitus, hyperacusis, dizziness, blurry vision, and just as a bonus I get intermittent swollen nasal passages. It’s as if my whole head is closing up on me. Not surprisingly I’m now pretty anxious because I’m not stable, and the ear pressure and other symptoms continue to worsen.
I see reference to ear issues now and then, but with most people it seems to be their lesser issue. Believe me I count my blessings that I have had very little pain, but my symptoms have me going nuts.
I’d love to hear from any others out there who might be similar to me.
I’ve been to a couple dozen different doctors, and really no one has a clue. I have seen multiple ENTs, Neurologist, Endocrinologist, Audiologist, Optometrist, Ophthalmologist, Naturopath, Acupuncturist, Chiropractors, Vascular Specialist, and of course my PCP. Trust me, I am not an hypochondriac, though it does look like I might be. Until this, many times a few years would go by without my seeing a doctor.
I now know I sure took my good health for granted.
So, if you’re out there, I ‘d like to hear how you’re coping, and if you have found any answers.
Thanks.

After the bleeding episode did the ear pressure let up? Was the bleeding after the balloon procedure?
Hi I had the ballon sinuplasty on Friday. My ear is still draining. And it’s the 5th day. Hope it ends soon.. Its worse then having the second covid. I had Covid19 in 1/21 11 days in the hospital then it turns out I was allegoric to the vaccines.. Almost killed me. Hope your doing better. No pressure on the ear just constant drainage.
I hope as the draining completes you feel better.
I am just getting worse. My ears are tight feeling with building pressure tinnitus and hyperacusis. Feel I’m losing my mind.
Trying to get booked with another therapy I saw mentioned here. SGB. It’s some type of nerve reset for the parasympathetic system.
Good luck to you.
I wish you well and hope you get better soon.
Well, I ‘ve had a rough few days. Not sure if I attribute to my nicotine OD, or just this terrible disease having it’s way with me. Ears are worse, and eyes so blurry. I’m a little hesitant to try even the low dose nicotine now. The other groups you mention are on social media that I don’t use.
Sort of at a loss of what to do next.
I have ear pressure which I believe stems from the unrelenting congestion, I can’t close my eyes without getting very dizzy….
Try this group for a vestibular specialist: The Vestibular Disorders Association (VEDA) is a nonprofit organization that provides information, support, and advocacy to people with vestibular (inner ear and brain) balance disorders and the healthcare professionals who treat them. Frequently reported symptoms of these disorders include dizziness, unsteadiness or imbalance, vertigo, nausea, hearing loss, visual disturbances, tinnitus, and brain fog. Vestibular disorders are difficult to diagnose, and patients often see multiple specialists before receiving appropriate treatment. Because these disorders are invisible to others, patients are often accused of malingering; depression and social isolation can develop. VEDA's website includes a provider directory of vestibular specialists, support group directory, resource library, and other resources. Membership benefits include a quarterly newsletter and access to our member support network.
Thank you for this information. I have already been through an eight week Vestibular training, which did not help me, so not sure this is right for me. There is a VEDA therapist near me so I may book a consultation just to see if anything new or different is offered.
Sorry to hear that. Using the low dose patch has produced the most positive results for me. I know everyone is different. Many others say after starting the patches they feel worse before they see positive results. It's part of the "herx" reaction which is trying to rid the body of toxins, or spike proteins, which is thought to be one of the culprits in Long C. On the other hand, that was not the case for me, as well as others. I hope you can get some relief soon.
