Fibromyalgia Was the most chronic pain you could imagine.
I started pain management not opioids anymore. I have been getting nerve blocks 2 and next they will do ablation of the nerves that were causing my pain. I can't tell you how good it has worked for me. I'm sitting here right now pain free finally. No more pain meds I sleep all night and wake with no pain, To all of you who suffer from this dammed thing I would suggest doing it. GOD I FEEL GOOD.

I need to ask about something for anxiety. On top of the Fibro, I'm dealing with PMR and taking cortocosteroids which can induce anxiety as a side effect. I was on Buspirone prior to the PMR but that gave me regular achy headaches... no thanks to that. Any suggestions as to what to request?

Ya I take gabapentin same thing. But before I started the nerve injections, I was on 60 mgs oxycodone a day. Thats how bad it was. Plus gabapentin, muscle relaxers, anxiety meds, God glad that;s over with.I suffered for 5 years. injections is the answer.
Ya I couldn't tolerate Buspur. I'm trying a new one just started today. Not. sure everyone is different. But Ive tried a lot of them. At first I was getting prescribed the pams. I cut myself off those. Wicked coming off those. The Dr is trying me on TRANYCYPROMINE it was prescribed back in the 60's.
But to answer you the Gabapentin didn't do that. They prescribe Gabapentin for anxiety also.
I didn't take the Busour very long once I realized that was where the headaches originated.
As far as anxiety, I ordered an otc gummy by Olly called GABA, L-Theanine. It seems to have decent reviews and doesn't interact with anything I take. I'll let you know if that helps.
The other drug I take for the fibro and have since 1998 is Tramadol. I've been able to take less since the last week or so which is nice.
Oooh that stuff gave me really bad anxiety. It was so bad I was ready to scream. But they wouldn't listen to me.
I think your reffering to trigger point injections. I had those also. No those didn't work for me. This is nerve blocks, those work but are temporary. Blocks are mainly a test to see if the DR hits the right nerve. Which will give me temporary pain relief. meaning it was a positive test. If it was negative, he hit the wrong nerve. So mine was positive I am a candidate for the nerve ablation procedure to basically insert a needle into to the nerve and burn it,
Don't know yet. Read about 2 weeks recovery. I'm not quite sure.
I'm finding the otc GABA, L-Theanine gummies (Olly brand) definitely take the edge off of the anxiety and fast heartbeat I've had from taking corticosteroids. It's nothing like prescription strength meds and what I was trying to avoid so I'm happy with this.
ALSO, the Topamax is working great. Not only have I just had two very mild migraines in the past month compared to the usual 7-9 with a couple being really bad, I'm experiencing much milder Fibro aches and pains as well as less fogginess. I wish I'd heard about this medicine sooner. I'm still on Tramadol and getting off will be chore, that will have to wait until I'm clear of PMR. One major thing at a time.
