Fibromyalgia Was the most chronic pain you could imagine.
I started pain management not opioids anymore. I have been getting nerve blocks 2 and next they will do ablation of the nerves that were causing my pain. I can't tell you how good it has worked for me. I'm sitting here right now pain free finally. No more pain meds I sleep all night and wake with no pain, To all of you who suffer from this dammed thing I would suggest doing it. GOD I FEEL GOOD.

How often do you do these treatments.
@tresemae Hello, that is wonderful news, glad you are feeling relief. How long ago did you receive your nerve blocks? They can be hit or miss for some and of course each person's experience varies. Have you tried blocks in the past for your pain?

1 ReactionThe Doctor does it under a scope. The nerve blocks are done to find the exact nerve that is causing the pain. He injects pain medicine into the area to get the right nerve. If it stops the pain he knows exactly which nerve he will destroy. The pain free can last 2 years. And if it grows back and causes pain he will then repeat the ablation ( Burn the Nerve) I just had the 2nd one done 2 day;s ago. Doing good until the ablation procedure.
But before I had the procedures, I was taking Diclofenac 75 mgs 2 times a day that stuff really worked. Better than opioids. And also Pregabalin 75 mgs 2 times a day.Good .for fibromyalgia pain.
How long has it been since you received the block?
My 2nd one 2 day's ago. They only do 2 just to make sure they have the right nerve. It stops the pain temporarily then he will do the ablation of the bad nerve. The block lasts about 2 weeks or longer.

3 ReactionsGreat! Typically, after positive results from the block are reported, insurance approves the next step of RFA (radio frequency ablation), then scheduling is pretty quick. Good luck to you on the next step. Keep hope alive! Will you report back on how you do with the ablation?

Also, regarding the Diclofenac (Voltaren), was this taken as a pill or cream? So you stopped taking the Diclofenac and Pregablin? Did you have any trouble tapering off the Pregabliln?
I desperately need an ablation of my left occipital nerve but I was told insurance (Medicare) requires two separate nerve block injections (lidocaine) and only if pain is blocked two times will Medicare pay. My problem is that Lidocaine leaks into all nearby tissues notth, south, east and west, and causes pain that goes on and on. So even if I have the ablation, angry tissues are going to continue to hurt 24/7. Did u not go through that?
How long after the ablation did it take for pain from the ablation (burning of the nerve) to go away?
