@twokitties Hello twokitties my name is briansr..I saw your post and wish you all the luck on your surgery. Ive had 8 low back and cervical surgeries, all were a have to. The first two were lumbar L4-S1, I couldn't walk. You might need some help when you get home. I am done, everyone I've had has caused the disc above or below to crumble. This has been a 33yr battle and they want to another one. I'm sure yours will go fine. I asked my dr what was wrong with me and he just said I was messed up. I will say a prayer for a speedy recoverj and no more leg pain. briansr

Hello brainsr. Thanks for your interest. Your situation is much more dire. I certainly hope for better days for you. It is frightening that you've had to have multiple surgeries seemingly caused by the previous. I don't think my surgery involves any discs, only osteoarthritic growths that are are causing spinal stenosis.
Hello ladyjane85. After reading the many posts of multiple surgeries & decades of pain, my situation sounds minor indeed but these posts are also quite frightening. What if my surgery doesn't help also or only leads to more pain & less hope! Must stop over thinking & stay positive.

@success101 Hello. You said you would like to hear from me. Just to tell you a little more about me. My leg pain has been ongoing for over 2 years. I've tried physiotherapy, dry needling, various recommended exercises, chiropractors, acupuncture & an epidural. Nothing helped. I take morphine to be able to cope & I get things done. My surgery is scheduled for June 6th. The thought of the scalpel in my back, makes me shiver but my surgeon is very reassuring & has given me hope. You say you have the same condition. How are you coping?

@briansr You aren't the only one that has one day surgery whom the dr
says you are being kept overnight. Some of us
have bodies that do not deal with anesthetics and meds well. I guess we
are the delicate people...... ladyjane85

19lin Thank you, but I have had 5 back surgeries, pain for 30 years,
cannot take meds. I have an apartment in an Independent living facility, so
housework is done for me, and meals are down in the dining room. The rest
of the time I am on the bed in a half recline. Drs do not know what else to
do, but I am going to try another nerve block procedure - he says if he can
find a place to put in the needle because of all the hardware in the
lumbar. Now the compression disc fractures have gone up much higher in my
back and more painful because the spasms go around the body to the front. I
make my bed and make it beautiful, and dress to where everyone admires my
clothing ( I did model). All this hurts while performing these physical
tasks but when you look better, it makes you feel better.....ladyjane85
