Yes I am having a total Pancreatectomy/splenectomy. I realize that there are major life changes. I am relying on my care team at the hospital.
I am trying to make arrangements for a care team for when I get home.

Hi Kyle
How are you? How is your adaptation after your total pancreatectomy? Have you changed your diet? Do you get chills and fever from infections? My sister who had a Totalpancreatectomy is having liver infections almost every month. Do t know why? Is this normal?

I just realized that I didn’t see a previous post from you. I apologize.
I’m sorry to hear that your sister is having infections with fever and chills. My understanding is that we are more at risk for infections without a spleen. I hope your sister’s doctor can give her relief.
I take enzymes whenever I eat and luckily I have been able to eat just about everything I ate before.
Thankfully I have not had any infections.
I hope your sister’s condition is temporary and finds relief soon.
