My husbands esophageal adenocarcinoma had spread to his liver (and lungs, bone, lymph nodes and soft tissue). Ironically the biopsies done 14 months prior to diagnosis were all negative.
I specify adenocarcinoma because I’m not sure how or if it compares to squamous cell.
My sister's cancer was discovered when she had an endoscopic ultrasound to look for pancreatic cancer. We both have BRCA mutation and I have pancreatic cancer. She had an 8 cm mass in the abdomen, found to be spread from the esophagus. Nothing in other places seen on the PET scan. She has started chemotherapy. Chemotherapy might be of benefit. I am so sorry. My husband’s is the same kind as yours, but it has not spread to all of the places you mentioned. His liver, however, is what is causing him “to lose the battle” (medical oncologist’s words). The hardest struggle of my life.

Baptist in Winston-Salem. We obtained a second opinion at Duke, and they were in agreement with the treatment plan. Chemo every 2 wks. except holding off a while because of chemoembolization to the liver.

After reading who did the second opinion, I'm sure they did check. You are not alone. We are also battling esophageal cancer. Hang in there.
