Baptist in Winston-Salem. We obtained a second opinion at Duke, and they were in agreement with the treatment plan. Chemo every 2 wks. except holding off a while because of chemoembolization to the liver.
Yes still here and doing well got diagnosed August of 2024. Flot program 4 chemo treatments then surgery then 4 more chemo treatments. All clear after pet scan done in July. So grateful. Try and stay positive. Many patients are doing well don’t give up ok. Scott
My dad dx Feb 24 6 rounds chemo and 5 weeks chemo.. surgery 6/24… immunotherapy Dec of 24 scan showed in liver… did biopsy was not about to get to it… Chemo with Zolbetuximab… did 5 rounds scans clear they said they want 12 rounds… got to 9 and could not tolerate.. fatigue and leg swelling….( I believe low appetite low albumin contributed to leg swelling) June 17 last tx… Aug 16 fell and broke his hip… they wanted him to do radiation …. I got him a 2nd opinion … they said no to radiation … 4.5 liters drained from abdomen ascites from liver Mets…. Fluid tested positive for cancer cells… they want to start chemo again…. Was 168 lbs now 131.2…..anyone else similar tx plan??
Yes it went to liver and a rib. But chemo has pretty much got that but we are still chasing it around to where ever it will sprouts next. Hang in there one war many battles.

May 21, 2024, was having trouble swallowing went in got scoped and it was exophage cancer stage 2 . started chemo in June took 4 sets 8 weeks than went in for pet and they didn't see anything. so, they scoped me again and biopsied the place and still showed cancer. they wanted to do the surgery, but no way was i going through that so .it was around the first part of January 2025 started having trouble again went for pet and it showed tumor on liver and rib. started chemo again same as before but after 3 infusions of oxaliplatin i had to stop the oxaliplatin part, continued the immunotherapy and the 48-hour pump. now last pet showed tumor on liver and rib gone and esophageal thinning. so still doing chemo like that so see if we can knock it out. the battel continues. but I am having fun with the nurses and doctors because I'm not going to let Satan steal my joy. Hang in there . Praying for all yall weather I know your name or not . God knows.
Has anyone had chemo/radiation surgery....immunotherapy... stopped bc scan showed in his liver.... pathology testing showed my dad's cancer was not a candidate for immunotherapy....did biopsy unable to get...started chemo....round 3 of chemo added vyloy started with significant leg swelling fatigue and decreased appetite... stopped June 17.... Aug 16 fell and broke his hip....we went for a 2nd opinion bc his doctor was saying radiation only.... 2nd opinion talking to restart chemo...
Praying the chemoembolization is successful. Hang in there.
