Could we get some doctors to talk about this.

Hello, my name is Reco and I had my right hip replaced in December. I experienced that same thigh pain for up to three weeks after the surgery. I constantly iced it over and over. So finally I purchased a product called t-relief gel and it worked great. Now seven weeks in I'm experiencing severe back pain. Had anyone else experienced that?

It could be sciatica nerve

I have had two TKRs and in both cases experienced blood-curdling screaming pain in thigh. I believe it is due th the surgen using that area as a “hot spot” for their soldering tools during the surgery. My thigh pain is like a severe electric shock. It eventually goes away.

Hello, I have followed all posts since June 2018, as I needed THR, and was so concerned regarding all the issues, which were not addressed by the surgeons in a meaningful way. Research indicates that the Conformis Hip addresses many of the issues of misalignment, as the device uses 3D printing to make a custom fit for patient. I found a surgeon using Conformis Hip, and surgery is soon. I will post my experience to help inform on the device, as I am saddened by everyone's suffering when by all accounts of THR WAS TO BE THE SOLUTION, NOT MORE PAIN.

@marthaellen I have a Conformis knee, done by Dr. Fitz, one of the developers of the Conformis knee. I had no idea they did hips also, not having a need for that. I cannot say enough good about my knee and about Dr. Fitz. When I had my first appointment with him and was in the inner waiting room there were people from all over the country there to see him. One, obviously well-heeled couple, actually bought a condo in MA because they knew they would be using him a lot! The hospital he does most of his TKRs in is Faulkner which is associated with Brigham and Women's in Boston. It was an incredible hospital, 162 private rooms, meals brought to the patients individually after being ordered by calling the kitchen. I felt like I was in a Beverly Hills hospital. The food was actually good too!

I had both done. The one im having issue with was 3 yrs ago, the pain stated a year later during winter. I have been back countless time and had so many test done with no conclusive answers..to say im fustrated is an understatement. The pain is so sharp i scream out. Wondering if the mayo could fiqure this out because my ortho just keeps racking up the bills with no answers

I'm having stabbing sharp pains 3 years after hip replacement surgery. It gets so bad at times that I have to use a cane. Arnica, DMSO and Valeren are affording good temporary pain relief but nothing long term. To say i'm frustrated is an understatement. I'm going to my 3rd appt with my hip Dr. on March 4th. If I get no satisfaction from him (again) I'll be looking for a 2nd opinion. I'm thinking it's a pinched nerve, scar tissue buildup or a muscular issue. Plan on trying deep tissue massage, tens machine, and acupuncture.

I had a total hip replacement, right side in August 2016. Sharp pain has started slowly a few months ago. Getting more regular and can’t stand long in one spot is when it bothers me. And having a tingling sensation on the right side of my calf. After surgery went so well . Then after a year my arthritis in my left ankle kicked in . I will be going to my orthopedic doctor about this. Sometimes the pain is dulling. It is getting difficult to do things daily the way I use to. Do not want to take pain killers . Messed up my kidneys somewhat. Only taking Tylenol for Arthritis. I was taking alleve for at least two years. Doctor told me to change To Tylenol, that’s when the pain worsened.

I have similar problem since 2015, was improving until this January . Take tramadol but only every other day or as needed. Also cannibus drops under tongue helped. Tylenal 650 mg sometimes helps. Too much exercise is not good but some is needed.
