Anyone experience hair loss with Prolia? I would also like to hear about those on Prolia with no issues?

4 rounds of Prolia. No new bone scans but I was just turned down for ankle surgery based on demineralization of the ankle bone. I had rheumatoid arthritis and my bones were damaged by being on Prednisolone for more than two years.

Thank you! I am managing. As so many of us are. Medicine keeps improving so there is always new choices.

I have received my first two doses of Prolia this year and am experiencing significant hair loss, its very scary, since I always had a very full head of hair. My question is, if I continue on with the Prolia, will my hair continue to fall out until I am at the point of being bald, since Prolia is a long term medication? Don’t know how the FDA could have approved Prolia, it has some very significant side effects!

I just joined and read your post and was wondering if you are still losing hair. I had a Prolia injection 3 weeks ago and my hair has become so thinned out and I’ve had super thick hair my entire life.

Yes, my hair is still falling out and the strands of hair I do have, (which used to be thick and healthy), are now thin and limp. Having other issues as well with Prolia. I am a month overdue for my third shot and am strongly resisting taking it again. I know all of the consequences of not continuing with it but I don’t care. Side note: no one ever told me before I started that I couldn’t stop! I feel scammed by Prolia. Waiting for the next step my “new” doctor advises. This whole situation is horrible. I feel like i’m between a rock & a hard place. Best if luck to you!

I’ve been on Prolia for two years and noticed significant hair loss five days after my last injection. I’m now searching for a product to slow or stop the hair loss.

Agree!!! I was never told you cannot stop! I’m close to finding out where to go to start looking for wigs. My scalp is showing through everywhere. It seems so unfair for a doctor to tell you to go on a medication because it will help you and not tell you, you will have to take it for life no matter how severe the side affects. This has happened to me twice now in my life. I’m now petrified to take any new medication. And when I am suggested to take something new I look it up and they all say it can under some circumstances cause death! So all side affects are not supposed to be concerning because they are all dangerous in some degree! I don’t get it…..yet….I do get it. Talk about confusion.

I am noticing hair "thinning" and have been taking Fosamax for about a month. I don't know if this is the causative factor,
